Aramike
02-14-09, 02:29 PM
Now it's come down to this, Aramike thought. Everyone turning on everyone.
Aramike asks Kapitan Jimbuna for permission to speak.
Granted.
"Ahem, need I remind you, A Very Super Market, when I brought up Gorduz I was threatened by YOUR goon squad's leader, Undersea, with being shot myself if I wasn't sure. He didn't give me the time to be sure. He, and him alone, is responsible for Gorduz. I even abstained in that vote."
Aramike turned to the rest of the group. "And yet, while in charge of this investigation, you haven't been able to string up one of the beasts. When you had your chance with Hitman, who I voted for, you came at me instead."
Aramike swallowed hard, then finished. "I vote for A Very Super Market. I won't pretend to know for sure that he's a beast, but at least his trickery will finally be atoned for."
A Very Super Market

I was screaming at the top of my lungs in the watch tower. I heard not a word from you :O:

"Because he and I are both guardians," said mookie as he opened his coat to show his holstered Luger. "And we're the last best hope we have for staying alive." He continued, "AVSM wasn't on your boat last night. He snuck out and was with me at the inn last night. We bolted the doors and took turns standing watch over each other. And helping ourselves to a bit of Penelope's schnapps." He winked and grinned at her. "Don't worry dear, we'll certainly pay you for what we drank when this is all over."
Where is the hard proof that you are both guardians? If you are both guardians, you have no need to protect each other. You should be protecting the rest of us!
Penelope_Grey
02-14-09, 02:59 PM
Watch Officer Pinguin continues to watch Penelope Grey, glancing at the rest of the crowd out of the corner of his eye.
"If you are still not convinced, you can perform your little 'tests' on me. Douse me in garlic, prod me with silver, even feed me that bloody Wolfsbane there if you must. Call me a wimp, or a werewolf. But know that I had nothing to do with the deaths last night, or any of the other nights we've been stranded in this godforsaken place."
The remaining beast or beasts are a crew member or members of U-13.
That means, you are a primary suspect in my eyes. You can cut yourself to pieces for all I care. The fact of the matter is this you mangy critter, you're the watch officer! How the hell did the wolf get into the boat eh? Something must have let it inside. Also for the beast to get into a U-Boat, a confined space, and then get out again without being spotted by the watch officer...
Very damn fishy in my opinion.
So then, Pinguin... explain that one for us. I am all ears.
And before anybody wants to accuse me... on the previous night, I was the one who went out into the night and brought Market back here to the Inn.
However, its funny, because I don't know about the others, but I've not seen you about much at night much.
But I have a better test...
*goes behind the bar and puts a can of petrol on top of the bar.*

Weiss Pinguin
02-14-09, 03:08 PM
Pinguin stares in horror at the can of gas. "This is madness! Of course you haven't seen me at night, for the same reason you haven't seen the good captain here, or Aramike, or Nisgeis, or the rest of our crew save those caught sneaking away: We've been locked up inside our U-boat! Of course I wasn't on watch last night: As I said, the U-boat was locked up tighter than a safe, it would've been madness to stand watch with these beasts around when I could simply-"
Suddenly he stops, thinking on his own words. The boat was locked up... Firewall was killed from the INSIDE!
He looks up at the captain, his face pale. "She's right... Unless the bloody devil unlocked the hatch from the outside, one of the creatures must've been onboard U-13... Mein gott!"
Pinguin looks back at the barmaid. "But I swear to you, I am not one of the beasts responsible for the deaths in this village!"
Nisgeis
02-14-09, 03:12 PM
There is only one thing I am concrete certain of, the last of the beasts is from inside that boat! And since there are only 4 of her crew left thats
you
Kpt Buna
Aramike and
that other guy over there. Nicegeese... or neisgeis or however the hell you pronounce it.
It's pronounced 'Bob'. Only a few minutes ago you were saying that someone else was a beast because they didn't help restrain Hitman... you aren't consistent in your accusations. Yes, you accused Hitman rightly, but you have accused everyone, so you were bound to be right sooner or later. It may be worth asking how a barmaid, come inn owner through murder, has the strength to restrain a werewolf with one hand, when I had to use my full weight?
I find it very convinient that of the three groups, you are saying that there are no beasts from the village group and I think you have said that from the start. First, a beast from U-13 was revelaed, then a beast from the camp was revealed. It would seem logical that there is at least one beast in the village and possibly two. You claim that isn't the case. Would that be because there are only two of you left from the village? One who claims to be a guardian, but so far has not protected anyone and yourself, who vouches for others, without offering any proof. You have also accused many others again without offering any proof.
I'll look forward to seeing what evidence mookiemookie offers as proof of his guardianship.
I also want to see what A Very Super Market has to say. He's happy to claim that he is a guardian, but hasn't said who he has protected. We don't know for sure that the uber beast is dead (do we? I might be missing a few things) and that is the only threat to a guardian at night. It seems quite a bold strategy to come forward without being sure. If they are both beasts, working together, then they can be sure their story of being guardians will always hold up. That will put them in a very strong position for the end, because who's going to lynch someone they think is a guardian?

Well I jumped wrapped myself around his arm I hardly wrestled him to the ground, plus I didn't restrain Hitman alone. Kpt Buna helped, so did Oberon, and yourself, it took a group of us to pin him to the post. The only one didn't help, was Pinguin. As he was down at the time.
Furthermore, I was right about Task Force. I wanted him shot, and I warned everybody that shooting Letum was waste of time. did anybody listen, no.
You are not a wolf, nor am I, I willingly offered to have myself shot if I was wrong about Hitman I wasn't wrong also, if I were a wolf, why in the blue fook would I offer to have myself shot? So quit pointing your finger at me.

I am not a beast. If I were, I would hardly say "Shoot me if I am wrong, and Hitman is not a wolf" would I?
Plus, I went out and helped Oberon, at night, and brough him back to the Inn here. Check the town criers notes (Scroll back in the thread) I am hardly going to be out at night helping somebody if at night I am supposed to be a monster and ripping people apart. Those flowers, Oberon gave them to me, to find out if I was a wolf or not.
I'll look forward to seeing what evidence mookiemookie offers as proof of his guardianship.
The proof is given already, and I have pointed you in the right direction of it too.

The uber beast is not dead, the uber beast is alive and well. We conjecture there are two beasts left. We have to off the right one today if we humans want to win this unholy war, and I for one have not watched my friends and villagers and other innocent people die for nothing.

Jimbuna listens to every word being said and wonders to himself 'Nothing could get inside the boat last night....she was locked tighter than a nuns knicker elastic. One of my crew died on board and one ashore...in my book that means there are still two creatures. Perhaps it would be easier to put ALL the survivors aboard and blow the boat up taking them all with her'.

Of course he votes for me! Wolves always try and put the blame on someone else... If you had suspected him, then he would just vote for you! It's a game! It's a sick, dirty game, and we all have to play it! I tried to protect the colonel, and the hellhound came to ruin the party. Find that town crier's script and you will see!

"Two guardians protecting each other can't be killed by one werewolf. Perhaps you're trying to split us up and get us alone so that we're more easily picked off?" Mookie casts an accusatory look in Nisgeis' direction.
"In any case, I don't have enough proof yet, so I cast my vote for Aramike."
Penelope_Grey
02-14-09, 04:07 PM
Kpt buna... Aramike needs to be offed. I think, you know this deep down in your heart of hearts.
Aramike wanted Contact, the Mayor of this town, and a Guardian shot. Stating "I just Know..." at the time I wondered if he had special powers... like seeing the future or something...but if that was true... he would have known Contact was a guardian..
So either he made a grievous error as I did or... there are more sinister undertones going on there.
I vote for the Lynching of Aramike.
Jimbuna
02-14-09, 04:16 PM
Jimbuna scratches his chin and thinks...'three votes cast and divided at that'.
'Where is the bold Penelope....quick with the anecdotal/lightweight allegations, but unusually succumbed during the voting period'.
'Nisgeis is hesitant/slow as always'.
'Pinguin....now there's a conundrum'.
'Me thinks it might just be as easy to lock them all in the boat and sink her....but that would disadvantage two innocent crewmen'
Jimbuna stands upright and says "Right....one of you my crewmwn are a Godless creature, of that I am certain. It may yet turn out this night that none of you will be allowed on the boat. You may yet have the pleasure of each others company ashore this evening"
Jimbuna fingered his throat and pressed his inner left arm against his Walther in the shoulder holster and thought '...and perhaps, God willing, I will have no need for either of these tonight'
He walked over to the bar and picked up another bottle of schnapps but was very mindful of all the pairs of eyes glaring at him.

*Walks up to the Kpt of U-13*
I don't care if you have doubts, but time is running out. If you are a Guardian, and frankly... Im not sure you are... But lets say for arguments sake you are...
But do you know what... if we are the survivors... we could come out of this ok. You know what I see?
Dollar signs $$$$$... money!!
This place could become a museum a piece of preserved history, think of it, we are the survivors of a terrifying ordeal, we'll all be rich beyond our wildest dreams, and over there, right where the old well is... we'll have a monument made of beautiful polished marble, standing 100 feet high, enough to put Moltenort to shame.
Where the names of every fallen person will be written on a gold plaque... we owe it to ourselves as human beings to win... and we owe it to the fallen to ensure their memories are given substance, and they die the heroes they are!
You think I want to pull pints all my life? I have ambition! And yes, I wouldn't mind coming out of this baptism of fire with a few fiscal rewards!

Yeah, you're right. I am thinking of the time I usually count them up, midnight GMT :)
CST
8am to 6pm Day begins, discussion for 10 hours, role-playing, then votes for lynching must be submitted by 5pm
6pm to 8pm lynch vote counted, execution carried out
8pm to 8am Night begins, seers, guardians, wolves PM their actions

This is like this game of chess, except you don't know what the pieces are, where they are or how they move, there's also no board and you're wearing boxing gloves. And it's pitch black. And you're dead.
Each time I try and think something through logically, there's always the possibility that such and such is a bluff and it could mean the exact opposite. I've been going over my notes and my spreadsheet of who voted for whom, but all I've got is plenty of reasons to suspect people, but not many to trust anyone.

From the watch tower, Super Market sees a squirrely little man, running as fast he can (Not very) from the inn. A werewolf running from the lynchers? Eh, forget him. The kaleun comes out next, and a ripple of gas knocks our intrepid spyer off his feet. Dazed, he pulls himself off the watch tower floor, and continues to watch over the town...

Jimbuna enters the Inn and looks at those arrayed before him. He can sense their urgency in wanting to know his decision.
"This is the first time I have been in a position where I feel I have been left no choice other than to vote for one of my crew. This has not been an easy decision to come to, but in the absence of votes from two of my crew it is obvious which way the vote is now weighted....so, with a heavy heart I vote for Aramike.
May God have mercy on me if I am wrong"

02-14-09, 06:04 PM
OK, so Penelope Grey has shown me some documentation that supports her not being a beast, whether it is forged or not, I do not know, but it seems not. She has told me that if I do not vote for Aramike, then I will be shot the next day, presumably by the gang of three she has influence over that lives outside the U-13. The last gang of three from the camp had a beast in it, did it not? I can't allow my vote to be swayed in such a manner. I must vote intelligently, not based on someone else's views (without proof) and with a gun held to my head to boot.
Still, I think Aramike is a logical vote, if Penelope Grey knows something that I don't. There is an equal chance of me being right voting for either group.

The Terrible Stain
http://www.subsim.com/werewolf/Real_firing_squad3.jpg
Feb. 14, 1945 18:00
The sun was setting on a familiar scene. A man lashed to a post, facing his accusers in defiance. The firing squad of Market, mookie, , Nisgeis, Pinguin—even Penelope had been forced to participate.
Jimbuna stared hard into the face of his crewman. “Seaman Aramike, I remember when the Tommies had us pinned under wasserbomb attack off the coast of North Carolina. The main induction was jarred loose and we were taking on tons of sea water. You volunteered to crawl into the space where barely a man could fit, and repair the breech. You save U-13, you saved her crew, and you saved me. You served the Reich with honor and dignity. I will always remember you as that man. Not as the beast who killed without reason or mercy.”
Aramike was breathing heavily. He did not have the look of a demon, or even a guilty man. “Herr Keluen, you know me, you know I could never do anything remotely like the crimes they have accused me of,” he said, thrusting his head toward Mookie and Penelope. “I’ve been on the boot, working diligently. I have been watched by my officers, none would suspect me as a werewolf.”
Jimbuna hung his head. “I know, mein sohn. Believe me, I do not have any choice in the matter. If there is any consolation to be found in this abdominal duty thrust upon me, you will not suffer, and it will be quick.”
“Herr Keluen…”
Jimbuna walked back to the firing line. “Can’t…” He turned to Mookie. “There must be some other way, Postmaster.”
“I’m sorry, but there is no other way. You know this.”
Jimbuna looked at the horizon. “Very well. Commence.”
The executioners aimed their rifles and fired. The man at the post jerked once, twice, then sagged down.
Jimbuna turned and looked the motionless, slumping form. He turned to the others. “Give me the other gun, the one with the special bullets.”
At this, a horrible roar shook the group. Aramike shuddered and strained against the thick leather cords and steel lanyards, kicking up clouds of dust. The post swayed violently as he jolted against it. Jimbuna took deliberate aim and fired into the heart of the hellish creature that once was his loyal crewman. The creature threw its hairy head back and howled.
Jimbuna fired again, delivering the killing shot. The creature was dead.

A Very Super Market
02-14-09, 07:09 PM
Hey, I accused him too! And how did the U-boot survive a patrol with him anyways?
*Ahem
The shots rang out, and all was quiet after that. The sun, eager for more destruction silently climbed down it's pedestal and replaced himself with the unchanging moon. Why was it still full!? He would have like to stay in the tower. Even bring his mark up with him. But it felt wrong. It would almost be cheating.
If dead tomorrow, he would know he was doing his duty, and had payed his respects to the Neal above. The laddered peeked out from the top of the tower, and made it's way to the ground. Then the rungs creaked and strained as the man laden with countless equipment started off through the ever-treacherous night.
A knock on the door, and he was let inside. Perhaps the hellhounds are gone...

*Stares at the fallen beast. A cold shiver travels up the spine.*
How many of our dead friends do you suppose this... THING... killed before we finally blew his evil brains out? I dread to think. I can only hope our fallen friends are watching this and feel some satisfaction.
Question is: Was this the hell hound? It certainly put up more fight than Hitman did... We could examine the bodies...? but, I don't think it really matters. We must now determine the last one.
*Looks at the setting sun*
Tonight for the first time in days, nobody need die, provided those of us left who bear the real power to repel these things choose wisely. I think this actually calls for a small celebration, I'm going in for a small drink and see if I can find them cigars Nokia kept for special occasions. I might like them better than I've liked cigarettes so far!

What a sad night this has been. The weight of responsibilitry felt heavy on Jimbunas shoulders....'One of my trusted men....why? he kept asking himself, time after time. he was always such a reliable crewman. Surely the people ashore have learned the lesson from those before them'.
Jimbuna feels the touch /contact of Penelopes body and thinks...'not tonight Josephine'.

Jimbuna sat almost motionless at the table, one hand clutching the bottle of schnapps, the other his glass.
He looked across at Penelope sitting at the bar smoking a cigar. She held it in her right hand because the other one would have been wrong.
The 'wrong' hand was constantly picking at her nose, the contents she kept flicking into a small bowl on the bar counter.
Pinguin came in through the door and ordered a drink, whilst Penelope obliged, he picked at the contents of the bowl on the counter, oblivious as to what it contained but obviously thinking it was a free bar treat. He asked Penelope "Do you have some salt for these?" gesturing to the contents in the bowl.
Penelope grinned and said "I'd have thought they would already be salty enough".
Pinguin said "No bother....and stuffed the entire contents into his mouth"
Jimbuna noticed Penelope turning her back on him but sporting a wry grin on her pretty face.
Pinguin came over to Jimbuna and sat next to him "What are you thinking of the present situation now Kaleun?"
Jimbuna "Who would have thought Aramike would turn out to be a beast?"
Pinguin "You never know what people might turn out to be Kaleun"
Jimbuna "I'm thinking there is still a beast at large.....but probably on the shore side." He then thinks about what Nisgeis said earlier presumably by the gang of three she has influence over that lives outside the U-13. The last gang of three from the camp had a beast in it, did it not?
Jimbuna "Tell me Pinguin"
Pinguin "Yes Herr Kaleun"
Jimbuna "Why didn't you vote last night?"
Weiss Pinguin
02-15-09, 09:39 AM
Pinguin looks solemnly at his captain. "Because that would have meant voting against one of my fellow crewmen... And I could not risk lynching another innocent man." He looks down, wondering just what the devil kind of treats these Norwegians ate.
He glances over at Penelope Grey, and suddenly his question is answered. "Ah, excuse me, Herr Kaleun," he says quickly as he gets up and heads for the washroom.
*The spirit of Hitman escapes for a brief second from hell, where he is burning*

He steps inside the doorway and glimpses Penelope scratching her bottom...'Crikey, could be free crisps on the bar soon at this rate'
Jimbuna "Good morning Penelope. A quiet night, by all accounts"
Penelope looked at the Kaleun rather seductively and said "Oh please Kaleun, do call me Josephine if just for a short while"
Jimbuna gulped, feeling himself flush a little and said "Okay Josephine, a bottle of your finest schnapps please......but put a hold on the crisps"

You've been dreaming sir... Thought I'd better wake you up. Would you like a bowl of porridge?

Okay... perhaps I'll just go and put on a pot of coffee.

Pinguin finally makes his way out of the washroom, having brushed his teeth and rinsed several times.
"Ah... I don't suppose I could get a bottle of schnapps, Fräulein Grey? No salt, though, please." He makes his way to his customary table, where he sits and tries hard not to think about salt.

Nisgeis is next to enter the Inn. He heads straight to the bar and whilst waiting to be served reaches toward the bowl on the counter.
Jimbuna shouts over "Don't bother with the crisps"
Nisgeis looks back at his Kaleun and says "It's okay Herr Kaleun, they're not crisps, looks like it's chocolate raisins today".
Jimbuna spits his drink back into his glass and thinks "Christ!! whatever next'

You know what fellers... we need a plan. I think its very creepy that we have got to this situation, only one fuzzball left. I have to say pinguin, if there is anybody left to be shot. Its you I want to blast, I'm not voting for you yet, but... you know, I find it odd that you haven't appeared in any of the town criers logs? I don't suppose you care to elucidate for us?
As for you Neisgeis, I have to apologise for my brute force tactics with you, however you did vote for Aramike. Who was a beast...
The big question is, will the last beast do the honourable thing... Why don't you save us the hassle and turmoil, and just go off and top yourself. After all... what have you got left to fight for? Nothing. Why not end your life with a bit of dignity and class eh? Rather than being strapped to a post and shot.
(Thinks: Poor Jimbuna is hallucinating badly... Can't blame him, not when he personally had to shoot one of his own crew, who WAS a beast... but, even so.)

Tell ya what, how about a friendly wager. Since you are pleading so much Pinguin that you are the innocent, how about this then...
You remember when I volunteered to be shot straight after Hitman if I was wrong about his werewolfness?
Well, why don't you take a leaf out of my book? What about... if today, we all vote for Neisgeis and we shoot him. But, if we are wrong, YOU get shot straight after?

U-13's wachoffizier stands up suddenly, nearly spilling his glass.
"I am not willing to bet with the life of one of my crewmates as if he were a simple plaything or just another piece of change, and I am willing to bet Captain Buna over there feels the same. IF he isn't already wrapped so tightly around your fingers like some kind of rubberband."
He looks around at the few people dispersed around the inn. "I will not vote for the Leutnant, not unless any one of you brings irrefutable evidence he's the devil we're looking for. And why should I be punished for your mistake? If anything, you should be the one strapped to that post if Leutnant Nisgeis is killed by the firing squad and shown to be the human I know he is. You have been the loudest voice in this village, accusing us bootsmen of running through your village slaughtering you all like so many cows." A small smile creeps onto his face as part of his mind ponders the comparison. "But I will play along. If the Leutnant is proven to be innocent by the firing squad, you shall have to dig a grave for me as well. Then we shall see how cozy this inn is tomorrow."

you're last crew mate turned out to be a monster!!!
Nobody died last night. for the first time in days. What's the matter? Haven't got the guts to take my challenge?!
I say we all wait to hear what Neisgeis has got to say first.
Jimbuna
02-15-09, 04:22 PM
Jimbuna calls his two remaining crewmen over to his table and speaks in a low tone to ensure nobody can overhear the ensuing conversation.
"We are at a pivotal point in this terrible affair. I am going to simply ask you both a few questions and give you time to consider your responses before I come to a decision.
Nisgeis...last night you were late voting and alluded to the fact you were coerced into the decision you made. I expect you to decide earlier and announce your vote for all to see.
Pinguin...You were seen jumping out of the window shortly before the voting deadline and failed to vote at all. You state you didn't want to vote against any of your remaining crewmwn, but what you failed to do was vote for anyone shoreside either.
Were you trying not to bring attention to yourself because in so doing your failure to vote did just that.
Added to that AVSM saw a wolflike figure leave the Inn just prior to me going outside for a Rollie........a potentially damaging piece of evidence open to a quick opinion you could say.
All the evidence thus far is anecdotal and circumstantial you could say....open to opinion you might add, but opinions are like ar$eholes gentlemen....everyone has one.
I hear you Nisgeis when you say that the gang of three is reminiscent of the original ones under Chads command, but this is a position that has been cultivated primarily due to the lack of concrete evidence thus far.
last night I voted for the first time against one of my crewmen because, due to the lack of concrete evidence I was only able to consider what was on the table ie: circumstantial, anecdotal and opinionated......nothing factual.
Give me something to go on and I will gladly consider it.
Until then I have nothing more than I did last night.
What we do know is that an attack took place last night, unsuccessfully thank God, so another important and life threatening decision is expected of us tonight.
I expect answers not only from yourselves but also from the others within the hour.
You....gentlemen are dismissed until then"
Both of them left the table and Jimbuna called over to Penelope "Another bottle of schnapps liebling and one of those big fat cigars you have hidden under the counter......I'll take a rain cheque on the chocolate raisins"
Weiss Pinguin

Wachoffizier Pinguin sits back in the corner of Mercy's Inn, lost in thought, and stares at his glass.
So it has come to this... Men who served together for months, even years, in the toughest of conditions, forced to decide which of them will by killed by the others... Gott, I know that none of us onboard that U-boat are creatures!
He stares up at the ceiling, his eyebrows furrowed underneath the bill of his cap.
But I have been proven wrong before... Task Force and Aramike, two of our most loyel crewmembers... But Gorduz! You were so sure, weren't you, let yourself be convinced by these villagers...
You're so bloody smart. A sigh, and a glance at the kaleun, then the leutnant, and Pinguin's gaze returns to the glass in front of him.
Quietly the wachoffizier slides his hand to his pocket, and fingers his trusted pocketknife.

*Stands in a space off near the door on bare wooden floorboards.*
You see this space?
This is where I am going to put my new Werewolfskin rug once the last of those unspeakable things are shot.
Now, here is the problem we have... the guilty party is either, you, or Neisgis, Kpt Buna despite his odd trance like state and ramblings about raisins is somebody who we, in particular, I am counting on. You can consider me, giving the Kpt here my seal of approval.
Task Force, Hitman, and then Aramike. I have accused the right person, 3 times in a row back to back. That's better than anybody else in this whole mess has done.
However, my instincts and certainty over the last monster are starting to bother me... yesterday, I was certain, YOU Pinguin, were the final creature, I even put my cooking knife under your chin! Make no mistake, if you gave me any indication you were the last one... I'd have stuck it in you without a second thought. I had to bully Neisgis into voting for Aramike; I am not proud of having to do that. But as you are aware... desperate times = desperate measures...
the end justified the means.
So, think on this Pinguin, again I must ask you to cast your mind back to the killing INSIDE the U-Boat. The killer would have to be somebody familiar with hatches would he not and their locking.
You ARE the watch officer on U-13, and unless I am mistaken, the Watch Officer is the last one below deck in the event of an emergency dive and it is he, who must secure the hatch for diving...
I am not 100% sure it is you though. I would dearly love to hear what Nisgeis has to say.
Nisgeis
02-15-09, 04:55 PM
Well, the documentation PG showed me last night did imply that she was a human. It could have been faked, but it would have taken a bit of effort. Each time I think PG isn't a beast though, she stomps around, threatening to lynch people and threatening to lynch people the next night, if they don't vote her way and then she decides to lynch them anyway! She clearly can't be trusted to keep her word.
This is taking me some time, as I keep having to go back and check previous posts and PMs to try to get a handle on all this. I think that the previous night, it was pretty clear in the narrative that there were two attacks, one inside the U-boat and one outside. This would mean that Aramike killed Firewall and someone from the village or camp killed Oberon. The beast on the boat was found last night. So I believe the remaining one is in the camp or village. The village is the only place so far without a beast being discovered, so it seems logical that there is a beast hiding in the village, it's possible that it's in the camp, but not likely that it is in the U-13. If anyone is claiming that the beast is not in the camp or village, then I don't think they are doing us any favours and are trying to stir things up and muddy the waters.
I did suspect Penelope Grey at the start, but then I wasn't sure, but as this has gone on she has grown more controlling and seems to be trying to control voting, without offering any proof.
She sent me a message saying that she knew that I was a human and that she was pretty sure that Mookie and Super Market were Guardians. She then sent me another PM a short while later, demanding proof that I was human (after saying that she knew I was). As proof, she wanted to see the message giving me my secret identity from the Lord Neal up above. She is far too erratic to believe anything she says anymore and her accusations tell me nothing, as she has accused everyone. As to why she wanted to know what class I was, well...
Local folklore says:
Hellhound - The Hellhound is a particularly nasty breed of werewolf, capable of overpowering even a human Guardian. These choose one person to attack each night, just as a normal werewolf does. However, if that person is a Guardian, they are killed just as if they were a normal human. Or if that person is being protected by a Guardian, BOTH players are killed. If, by chance, the Hellhound attacks someone defended by TWO Guardians, the Hellhound randomly kills one of the three players (The attackee, or one of the two Guardians).
This seems to imply that a normal beast cannot kill a guardian, only a hell hound can. That would explain why Penelope Grey wanted to know what class I was, so she would not attack a Guardian (like she did last night)? She seems to be pretty sure that the hell hound is dead - how does she know? Perhaps that was a slip up, as there's only one way she could know. Perhaps the network of three land lubbers is working unknowingly with a beast.
Also, local folklore (The Q&A Thread) says that if a werewolf is to attack someone defended by a Guardian, then the Guardian will beat off the attack. If the attacker however is a hell hound, then both the Guardian and the person the Guardian was protecting will be killed. So, when A Very Super Market claimed to be protecting Chad, who was killed, that can't actually be the case can it? If Chad were attacked by a werewolf and AVSM was protecting him, then Chad would have lived. If Chad had been attacked by a hell hound, then both Chad AND A Very Super market would have been killed. In either scenario, A Very Super Market cannot possibly be a Guardian - unless I'm not understanding the folklore properly?
I don't know if Penelope Grey is a beast or not, or if she is having her strings pulled from behind the scenes, like the last trio of voters who had a beast controlling things. I didn't believe that Aramike was a beast, I secretly suspected Jimbuna, but now I believe that Jimbuna and Watch Officer Pinguin are innocent men.
Mathmatically, we have a one in three chance of lynching the beast. The wildy hysterical finger pointing of Penelope Grey is not helping us get anywhere though. If Captain Jimbuna and Watch Officer Pinguin can agree on a vote, I will vote with them.

"I will not try to convince you that I am still your Wachoffizier, Herr Kaleun" he states quietly. "All I can say is that I trust both you and the Leutnant are still human."
He pauses, fishing a piece of paper from his pocket. "I have made my choice," he declares more loudly, pushing the scrap of paper towards Jimbuna as he glances towards Penelope Grey.
Written on the crumpled paper in his handwriting is Penelope Grey.
Clearing his throat, Wachoffizier Pinguin stands again, pulling his raincoat on. "I'm heading back to the boat," he says to anyone and no one. "Come get me when... well, when you need me."
On his way out he nods to Fräulein Grey, meeting her eyes for only a second.

Getting my vote in early as ordered. I'm convinced the last beast is in the village or camp, most likely the village. The most irrational person, who seems to be going to any lengths to avoid suspicion and keep control is Penelope Grey. I thought we had brokered a deal last night, but it seems she cannot be trusted and will say whatever is needed to get her way and then turn on you.
Her wild accusations are muddying the waters of cold hard logic that we should be relying on. This may well get me three return votes, but it seems clear to me that she will not stop until all aboard the U-13 are dead and that will certainly be fatal to us all.
I vote for Penelope Grey.

Fine then. Let us lay our cards on the table.
Mookie, Jimbuna, and AVSM all know I am human and I hope and pray are not going to vote for me.
I am going to go with my original idea and I vote for Pinguin.
I've got it right 3 times in a row. Task Force, Hitman, and then Aramike... I have a record of success now as far as wolf killing goes... let us see if I can make the trio a quartet...
Nisgeis, your dithering resulted in me having to force you, rest assured there was no forgery, I took a huge risk in placing faith in you I can see, but, never mind. I can see you are a lily livered lump. Is it fear that compels you to vote with Pinguin, or something else?
I fear not the wolf, or this vote. For I know I am going to live, and I am sure, once Pinguin is kaput, my wolf skin rug will go right over there.

If you had faith, why did you start pointing the finger of irrationality at me? Faith means something different in Germany, where we pray unto the almighty Neal. Not like this hell hole.
I see you are attempting to claim that because you were right the past few times (after accusing absolutely everyone), that your next vote is right. But that can't be the case, because you are accusing me AND Watch Officer Pinguin and as far as we know, there is only one beast left, so you can't possibly KNOW anything, can you?

Another theory and its possible... there may not be a wolf left. Nothing happened last night... what if, we are all just pawns in a grand game... and some demented puppet master is manipulating us?
What if voting to shoot somebody, is the wrong choice?!

Considering that I have been as honest with Nisgeis as I have with AVSM, Mookie and Jimbuna, yet, he still votes to have me shot. I am left to assume the following...
1) he couldn't finish me off last night when he became furry and snarly
or
2) he just plain hates me and wants me shot
Therefore... its with heavy choice that I am forced to vote for
Nisgeis
And also to express my sincerest apologies for accusing Pinguin in the wrong. I hope he can forgive me.

What's up? Couldn't take me out last night so you've decided to do it with the guns?
I am starting to think you are the wolf and not Pinguin after all.
What do you mean starting to? Or were you sure it was Watch Officer Pinguin last night, but decided to accuse me last night because... well why? You have made the same claims about everyone. You've also posted saying that you know I'm human, so I can't see why you have changed your mind, except that I'm not part of your puppet show. You never give any reasons for doing anything. You say you know things, then you say you aren't sure, then you say you are sure. Make your mind up. You won't give the proof you claim to have, you won't say why you are making the choices you are, so they cannot be challenged.
This is the second (or maybe third) time you've claimed to have been the victim of an attack. As far as I know, those attacked that live do not know they were attacked. Is this 'proof' that you are not a beast? No, it's just proof you've made something up. Why would you make it up? :hmmm: Obvious.
You are far too erratic to be taken seriously, your irrational rants are just sabotaging us. Even if you aren't a beast, you're making one hell of a smoke screen. You are a noise maker. The beast is clearly on the mainland, as the narrative said. Any other claim is just stupid and has no basis! There must be a beast in the village as that's the only place there hasn't been a beast uncovered yet and it is the closest to the woods and that's where the howling was heard from.
AVSM and Mookie are also not giving any reasons for voting they way they are. Perhaps you have not told them why they are voting that way either?

Wachoffizier Pinguin steps into Mercy's Inn with a determind look on his face.
"I think I know who it is," he announces as he steps further in.
"Why has Super Market stayed up in that bloody watchtower all by his lonesome these last couple of days? When was the last time anyone here saw and talked with him? How has he acquired all those bruises and scrapes? And why is it that he never showers or bathes?
He looks around from beneath his (By now very wrinkled and dirtied) cap. "I doubt anyone here will support me, but until someone can offer me evidence that he is a guardian as he claims, my vote goes for Gemeiner Super Market."
Penelope_Grey

AVSM, Mookie, myself, and Jimbuna all know who the other is... you see there is a qaurtet of cooperation there. And the four of us, now KNOW the final wolf is you, or Pinguin.
However, since you still decide to vote for me... in spite of the proof I sent you... then you are not doing a great job of convincing me and the remaining humans you are not the wolf Nisgeis...ITs not my back against the wall, its yours.
Pinguin you are voting for the wrong man. AVSM is not the one we want.
Weiss Pinguin

"Until you show me proof of that," Pinguin declares, "I am sticking with my vote. If he is truly a guardian, he has nothing to fear from a lowly werewolf, and that is what I believe we are up against. And would it not be better for those of us here to know who among us is responsible for our safety?"

It is with my considered opinion and the fact that Nisgeis failed to reciprocate proof following my olive branch...

I hereby change my vote to Nisgeis.
You already were voting for me. You can't be honest about anything can you? I didn't know whether to trust your proof, as it could have been forged, but I couldn't see how you'd do it. But based on what Weiss Pinguin just said to me, it became obvious what you'd done. I couldn't work out a way you would do such an accurate forgery, with the correct text, but I think I know what you did now. You bullied someone into giving you their PM first, probably by saying you'll have them shot, then you created your forgery. So that's how you obtained what the accurate PM from Neal said for a real human and then you used that as the basis for your forged screen grab. I noticed that the screenshot you sent was a low quality jpg - I wondered at the time if that could have been to hide the edits. It's easy to pass it off as spontaneous, if it's already been prepared in advance.

Surely it can't be one of my Ubootwaffe....we have paid too heavy a price already.
Will AVSM show his hand tonight by voting, or will he refrain again?'

Penelope......how could you be so sure last night, yet suddenly change your voting preference?
The same way I was so sure Letum was guilty... then changed my mind to say he was in fact not guilty and not worthy of being shot. Plenty of others made mistakes, they are now dead.
I don't want to see an innocent man shot which is why I change my vote to the guilty one. Nisgeis.

The one consitent thing is she accuses the occupants of the U-13, where we know the beast is not. If I, then Watch Officer Pinguin gets shot (which is fairly obvious he is next), who's next after that Captain?

The Single, Slender Thread
Mookie passed by the butcher's shop on the way to Mercy's Inn. He saw Pinguin standing by the entrance, still as a shadow, his eyes fixed on some distant point on the horizon. His U-boot stare, I imagine, Mookie thought.
"Is he inside?" Mookie asked.
Pinguin's eyes slowly turned to the postmaster. "Ja.” His body seemed to age years with that single word.
"Where is your Kapitan?" asked Mookie.
"I don't know, he should be here any minute," said Pinguin. "Where is Penelope? She voted to condemn him, too."
"Her nerve cracked, poor lass. She's shut herself up in the finery store."
Mookie thought. "Let's get this over with. Be on your guard, and remember, Wachoffizier, this is what we all agreed on. Every man gets a vote, and we accept the outcome, regardless of who drew the short straw."
"Shouldn't we wait for Super Market?"
"No, I can't get him down out of that guard tower. It will have to be me and you, mate."
Pinguin nodded. They went inside the tavern. A single figure sat in the corner, shrouded in the gathering shadows.
Mookie walked up to Nisgeis. "It's time, Leutnant. Will you come without resistance?" Mookie's Mauser seemed to suggest agreement was the best choice.
Pinguin stepped up, lowered his Luger. "Leutnant Nisgeis, sir...I think it's best you come with us."
Nisgeis cooly looked from one to the other. He stood. "Of course. I understand. You won't have any trouble from me, gentlemen."
They led him out into the dying light. Soon, what was left of the full moon would once again take dominance in the night sky. There was no time to waste.
Nisgeis walked to the post and turned around."If you wish, I can forgo the usual ropes, I will show you how a U-boot officer dies."
Pinguin and Mookie exchange glances. It would be risky for one of them to tie him up with only one other to keep guard. They nodded.
"Would you like a cigarette, Leutnant?"
"No, thanks, I'm trying to quit," Nisgeis.
Mookie and Pinguin backed away from the condemned man. At twenty paces, they stopped.
"One," whispered Mookie, "two, three--"
Two shots rang out. Nisgeis staggered back a step, his smile became a grimace. Then a snarling leer. His face dropped, and when he raised it, it was transformed, wracked with evil, a hairy and ghastly visage.
http://www.subsim.com/werewolf/Werewolves-In-London_l.jpg
"Fire again, mate," shouted Pinguin. They cracked off four more shots. Nisgeis shuddered, and dropped to his knees. Mookie drew the ancient pistol with the silver tipped bullets, approached the creature that was moments before a proud member of the Kriegsmarine, and fired a single bullet into its chest. It shrieked, twisted, and collapsed in the dirt.
Pinguin stepped next to Mookie. "Mein gott, he was truly a cursed one."
They stared down at the still figure. The night shadows enveloped the stricken little village of Vanvikan. The moon shone down with a new light of hope; restful, tranquil, hope.
The long nightmare was over.
