From what I can tell it will be a a action based WW2 game that will do more for quick games on X-box live than Single player.

I guess it can be fun. Tho I suspect it will be the first to suffer a new wave of "Get it out NOW or you are FIRED!" Game industry stance.

I saw the EA logo and closed the tab.

The DRM will probably have more code then the game itself.

Yeah yeah yeah, DRM is bad and satanic. God, I keep hoping maybe one day i'll walk into a thread and 90% of the discussion won't be pointless nerd rage.

As for the game, I like the idea of a return to the original time frame of the series. The lack of percieved content for 1943 may scare me away though. Three maps and only two sides? Uh, yeah. Plenty of free-ware games offer waaay more. :)

Interesting! I think this is only going to be a 'watered down' battlefield. My reasoning, it's currently listed as XBLA & PSN which means it's digital download only.

Well 1943 is going to be around 350mb download according to gamespot. Its more of a mini game then a full blown BF. I think you will find its just being made to cash in before Bad company 2 is released.

I know alot of battlefield fans are gutted by this news as they were hoping for a PC battlefield 3.

Personally I was hoping to see 2142 again, but I guess i'll just have to wait for my pew pew laser beams.

Well anything is better than nothing.

Even for such a small download it seems to be jam packed with action. I can see this as a really awesome play when you don't have all that much time.

As for DRM. Until games becomes much cheaper to make (5 years I am guessing to develop the software to do so) You can either play nothing but open source or you can not play at all because DRM is not going away when game companies have us by the nads with this economy.

Looks like the same as Bf1942 to me, just with Farcry graphics.
