I overheard a girl talking about this before class today, (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/02/03/BAIC15MLMT.DTL)she said she and a friend stood in line for over an hour to get the free breakfast. Wow, people go crazy over the word free :haha: I mean, sure, but for $5.99 breakfast??

And as expected, people who value free so highly are not very generous tippers

Inside the restaurant, the servers' hands were full, and their pockets were empty. Tips were almost nonexistent, as 15 percent of nothing is nothing.
"Nobody's leaving anything," said one waiter, who identified himself as Raymundo. "And some people are not so nice."

Well, now that they know this, Denny's should sell ad space on their walls next time to recoup some of the expense:DL
Seeing how popular promising free stuff is, I think I might use the idea to try to get elected President someday. The other candidates won't see that one coming. :D

The best waitress I ever met worked the counter at a Dennys in Leominster Massachusetts. It was like she could read her customers minds. Her movements were so fluid and efficient that it was a joy to watch her in action.

I'm sticking with the incompetents at Hooters. They're also a joy to watch.

This made me think of something - I often go to watch our minor league hockey team in town play, and every game there's 2 or 3 promos involving food - specifically, they ask people to stand up and make noise in order to score a pizza, or a snack-stick, or whatever.

And everytime I see it, I'm thinking, "man, humanity is far closer to dogs than they realize..."

It's amazing what people will do when you combine the words "free" and "food".

Oh, and and come on ... does anyone really buy these people's lame excuse that the economy is why they're standing in line for the free eggs? Somehow, just through knowing human nature, I highly doubt that the story would have been any different in a great economy.

A buddy of mine told me about this yesterday. He said he was going to go and get his "free" breakfast and that so should I. Hmmm! Let me see here... I make 35 dollars an hour and I am going to go stand in line for an hour and a half to get a stupid 6 dollar breakfast??? NOT:hmmm:

Honestly, all this free food tends to be from fast food franchises that sell ridiculously cheap products in the first place
