im at a complete loss, i just got a mission to intercept a convoy heading to the port of ormara west of india... but im not given any information on where this mystery convoy is comming from. i sat near that port for days and got not even a stray merchant detected.
im playing stock 1.5
what am i supposed to do?

It didn't give you any icon that looks like a ship in a crosshair or getting hit by a torpedo?
Typically on convoy intercept missions I've found that if you can find and intercept any convoy within 100km of the mission indicator, and radio in their position you will be able to continue with the sub objectives of sinking specified cargo ships within that convoy.
Spend a day at 40-30m doing checking for sound contacts?

i didnt see any icon, thats what i looked for at the start of the mission thinking they would provide one. if there was i didnt see it. i will try the second option and see what happens

I had the same problem, the Star Icon for the Convoy didn't show up. Some here say it's broken when you save the mission out of port, but now I have another convoy to hunt and the Red Star stays on even after reloading.
I think Ormara is just like that - not much to help it. But if you wait 22 days near the harbor, you should towards the 20th day see radio map updates of a convoy coming to you. That's the one, but it gives you very little time to intercept.

Well, the uboats in the stock game are all vague to be honest. Go to the SH4 mod forums and get Operation Munson (OM). The vague shipping and things will become very clear installing this mod. :03:
