Just finished Alex Kershaw's "Escape from the Deep", a thoroughly well researched account of the sinking of Tang, her crew, and her survivors experiences. I couldn't put it down, finished it in a couple of days, and was sad when it ended. Highly recommend this one. Great reading. Full of both heart thumping Submarine action, and heart breaking aftermath of the sinking, and accounts of the few survivors in late life. The final passages about Dick O'Kanes final years are gut wrenching...

Feel free to leave the title of any other book about the submarine War in the Pacific that you may have read and loved....

Well "The Terrible Hours" (Peter Maas) is not about the Pacific War, but itīs an amazing book regarding other "Escape from the deep"

Itīs about the "Squalus" rescue in 1939, leaded by "Swede" Momsen. Iīm reading it right now (finishing it)
