Poo on this weather, Neal posted a topic on Facebook "If it's winter in Texas, is it summer Down Under?" The forcast here in Adelaide is for 3 days of 41C (104F) then 39C (102F), it is 3.00pm and currently 42C, it's like walking in a damned furnas outside! .... Not amused!:dead:

Whoo! 40C would be unbearable for me. Canadians can't really take the heat that well. How do you get by?

Its easy mate - throw on the shorts and thongs, a wifebeater, and go to the beach with a few brews. Follow up with a barbie in the evening, with a few more brews, and you've got it made

Same here in Melb, all friggin week we're going to have north winds blowing in the hot air off the Simpson desert, nothing below 30c till Saturday, and even then its only a brief break before the temp goes back up during next week. Next week doesnt look much better. I tell you I'll be glad when April/May roll round again. I can't stand the hot weather, even if I do have cold brews and a pool at home.

Had a stinker on Saturday. 39c but sat indoors air conditioning on with a few friends over drinking red wine till it cooled off. Bugger going outside in that heat!:o

Work has Air Con but it's so cruddy. It doesn't even cool the entire restaurant (I'm in McDonalds as a cleaner :stare:). You can only get cooled down by it if you stand or sit under a vent :damn:

Really hate summer here right now :dead:

Reece, what's the typical humidity down under? The hottest place I've ever been was Honduras. I was in the army at the time, and we were doing construction work in the middle of the summer (glorified PR project, really, but that's a different story). The typical high temperature during the day was between 115 and 120F, but the humidity was low and there was always a 10-20 mph wind blowing, so it was bearable. Personally I find it more miserable in the summer in Louisiana, where you spend weeks on end with temperature and humidity both above 95. You really aren't sweating, that's water from the air condensing on you!

Reading about these hot temperatures is making me feel nauseous. Right now it is -1* F but the sun is shining. It is cold, but I handle the cold a lot better than I handle the heat. I actually don't like summer at all. On those hot and humid days I miss days like this. My differing levels of crankiness are directly proportional to the heat and humidity.

I hate summers here in Toronto. My building's heating & plumbing are interconnected, meaning the heat has to left on all year round otherwise we have no hot water; love to meet the idiot who designed that!:damn: As a result it gets to be like an oven in here during July & August. Absolutely miserable time of year. My a/c runs almost constantly during those months. Sometimes it gets so bad that I have to inflate my air mattress & plunk it down in front of the a/c just so I can sleep at night.

With windchill, it was something like -34C last time I checked. There's about three feet of snow on the ground, and the isolation in my room sucks pretty bad... Wanna trade?

@ Quillan, depends on the part of Australia, the northern part is very humid while the southern is relatively low, I have a large evap aircond & works a treat, however we still get some days (95%) where I have to leave the evap off & use the refrigerated one.
@ Murr44, I think I would arrange for cold water showers during those hot months!!:yep:
Sheesh! 10.00 am and already over 40!! .... I hate this smiley .... :sunny:
Edit: They just upped todays corcast to 44C that's over 110F!! I'm melting!

As of 1400 the BOM's got Adelaide's temperature at 45C and it still hasn't got to the hottest part of the day yet - wife and I are betting 46 or 47:sunny:
