Is there a way to set time compression greater than 1024?

Also, where do we set the automatic time compressions for events? Like 'drop to time compression 1 when ship is spotted'?

Yes.

Steam version is exactly the same as CD, you can mod it to oblivion and you can still play. Just make sure you make a back-up, so you don't have to redownload the game. Don't move the file outside of the steamapps folder and don't rename it. Mine is working fine, and I've got mod borscht.

Or you can go to your MyDocuments folder Like this MyDocuments\SH3\Data\Cfg

Now find the file called {main} and open it. Second group down on the list is time compresion. change it to what you want. click file/save .....done!

Thanks everyone, SH3commander works on steam versions. It's a really useful tool, I just wish the 'start out of port' option would work.

I've found that it's a good idea to set the "when enemy plane/ship spotted" time compression settings to 1. Damage can accrue very quickly & before you can do anything about it you're sunk...:damn:
