Any thoughts from those that know more than me?

yeah - tried it (Chrome), didn't like it, too different from what I am used to in FF, especially the bookmarks.

I tried it too, ended up sticking with Firefox, the interface is too weird and I didn't see any performance difference

Opera
Then Firefox, then Chrome. I guess the main reason for that is that Opera and Firefox quite similar to some extent, while Chrome feels a lot more simple.
Firefox rules. Tried Chrome, it couldn't compete. And I was surprised, because I love all things Google...

Opera is superior to both of them.

Thanks for the replies all. I'll stick with Firefox.
I know Opera has a loyal following and many believe it's superior to Firefox, but I've tried it before and I just prefer the Firefox feel.

I like Chrome, nice spacious pages, rather zippy.
But it's missing a lot of functionality. I tfeels a little like using IE after years of Firefox.
I alternate between the two depending on what I'm doing or what mood I'm in.
Stuck with IE at work. Sigh.
Chrome has been accused of not being secure...dont know if that has changed alot since its launch though.

I tried chrome, it's something you have to get used too.
Although I can't say much of firefox, it wasn't until my new computer that I really finally switched over from IE. lol

I'm getting occasional crashes with Firefox on my new Vista 64 box. :damn:
Yeah, I know, it's my fault for not being patient enough for Windows 7. But I wanted to spend that cash before it went to something else.

*cough* vista is windows 7 *cough*

German BKA (german version of FBI) has warned against the use of Chrome, calling it a considerable and uncalculatable security threat that spies on every move you do and stores the data with Google for a veeeeeeery long time - ALL of it. It's the first time the BKA has ever made such a determined comment of computer software, as far as i remember. The use of Chrome is strongly discouraged.
Even before that was published, I had read so much about the spying of Chrome that I even wouldn't touch it with robo-arms.
don't be stupid, guys. Google keeps every keystroke you type with many of their applications, especially chrome and Google, but others as well. your data is being stored for almost unlimited ammount of years/decades, and their is nobody servinf you interest in issuing some countercontrol. you never know what is beign done with your inputs and ata, where they end, who makes a business of them, and how they may backfire on you one day. Visual gimmicks is not all. Being cool is meaningless. Having the latest toy means nothing. Play it safe - boycot Chrome. It's far worse than IE, and imo the worst choice of browser available today.

Core.......Yes and no.
It may look the same but its undergone a great deal of tuning and fixing. One step closer to Winmin

Thanks for the warning Skybird much appreciated.
Have been using IE since I made the switch to Vista x64. I hope firefox would come out with a 64 bit version of it.
One thing that I noticed while I was using firefox was that there were abundant numbers of plugins that you could use and many of them aim to even improve firefox security. I started using a plugin which let you control what script in a page that you allow to run and what scrpt that you don't allow and found that most sites have google analytics script running. I guess that google analystic script was run to gather information on user behavior. I know google is using bot to find pages but it was still kind of scary to find that most sites have google analytics script running. and I' was surprised to find many other foreign origin script running in many sites too.

Opera is superior to both of them.
Why?
Well first of all its no memory hog.
It seldom crashes, many many features you tale for granted in Firefox through EXTENSIONS are already in Opera since months if not years.
The Opera interface is much more configurable than that of Firefox.
It includes mail, irc and bitorrent clients. It has a download manager worthy of that name. Last but not least it has mouse gestures that work, and every aspect of the browser can be controlled thorough the keyboard. Try doing that with IE, Chrome or even Firefox.
There is no way in hell I'm ever going back to using Ie or even Firefox.
And i tried Ie since 5.0, Opera since 7 when it was payware, Firefox since 2.x and even Chrome (eternal beta).

Isn't Chrome Open source?
http://dev.chromium.org/ (http://dev.chromium.org/)
Pretty sure you can dl the code and compile it yourself, thus if it had **** to steal data you could remove it yourself and compile.

Are you sure Chrome and Chromium are the same? Don't think so. Beyond that, I do not know.
