Hi Guys

As SH4 is my re-entry into the world of WW2 Naval sims, after years of absence, I did some reading on the topic. What I found was that the Typ IX should have only 10 external torpedo compartments? for a total of 24 carried (not 26 as in game) and crew amount is usually given at about 57, whereas in game it's over 65 last I counted.

Would it be more "realistic" (I know that this is always a subjective debate in a computer game) to drop two external torpedos at base, and maybe remove the permanent repair team, instead filling it as needed from other stations?

I don't really want to try out a total conversion mod yet, like TMO or RFB, but I'm looking for small things to make 1.5 stock a little harder, and a little more rewarding. On the same token, a small mod that removes the "stabilized" 105mm gun sight would also be appreciated.

From looking at my sources as well, yes, it looks like the IXD2 carries two torpedoes too many by default.

Removing the "full-time" repair team would be a good move too, as the positions would be filled as needed from the regular crew as needed, yes.

Gotta do that. Weird enough the external model shows 12 torp stores on deck, but sources say they should only be 10. I'd like to see a detailed plastic model somewhere so I can count.

Repair team not "automatic" adds a bit of use to the crew management screen, so definitly more immersive.

I had a look at SH3 yesterday on a friend's system, and that really makes you appreciate the new "watch" feature.

We need to hook up for some MP these days.
