on the nav map (i'm using TMO 163) my course is always shown as being about 1-2 degrees on the plot map.
has anyone else noticed this?
thanks!

Yeah, I have it too. And have had it since SH3... But I dont think it has any effect on your navigation, it´s just an annoying bug IMO...

As long as you aren't going off course and straight into a wall, you're fine.

hmmm, strange bug eh? seems a simple fix. oh well
so, if i want to map a contact from a bearing from my sonar,is there a better method that does not involve drawing a line from your boat through the graduations on this this (slightly) inaccurate bearing plot?

Yes, your right. I noticed this with two different bearing tools. It does seem like it should be a simple thing to fix, but if it were it seems someone would have done it by now.

just noticed something about this bug, it only occurs after a RIGHT RUDDER adjustment! :o
so, of you need the 0-degree mark to line up with "true zero" you need to give a touch of left rudder and then return to course...
you can also see that the bearing-plot zero axis matches the attack map course given for a zero gyro angle torpedo track....i don't know what this implies for long range shooting, but it might be off enough to affect some methods of targeting?? :hmm:

Its your navigator adjusting for windage :p
