I liked RUb and have never tried GMX...

What's the main differences?

Ah... the Grey Moose Expansion! Highly recommended! Just kidding, I know you mean GWX. I've never tried RUb but I can say GWX is probably the state of the art in mods when it comes to SH3. Try it, you won't regret it.

RuB was a good lil mod in its day but the game has added so much since RuB was released
I remember adding Rub and Iub as my first supermods
dont come anywhere near close to GWX
Nor LSH3\WAC and NYGM for that matter

Thanks, and yes, I meant GWX... of course.

Does GWX focus on realism like RUb did?

GWX puts a lot of focus on realism, yes.

Your best bet might be to install a fresh game and give it (GWX) a go http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/thumbsup.gif

Hi just a comment Ihave several installs including the old RUB and the latest GWX
and still actually prefer RUB ! It is quick to load, and frame rate problems and "stalls" are minimal. Mine is very heavily modified with the many mods of the time that I like, including loading screens from the Das Boot engine room. Funny perhaps but I prefer it, am actually having light entertainment with it at the moment in running a type XXI in 1940.
Cheers

Nothing wrong with that. RUB is still a great mod, as are all the others. GWX does add that "something extra", but definitely at the price of loading time and possible frame-rate problems. I use it because I do love all that it adds, but the others are still well worth playing.

If you love RUB, you might want to try NYGM, as they started where Beery left off and took it to a whole new level.

I'm sorry, but I sincerely have to thank you for having given me the best opportunity to :rotfl: with that comment.

It reminds me of asking a McDonalds employee (of higher level) who produces the best hamburger: Burger King, McDonalds or the small local burger joint on the street corner. I very much doubt the McDonalds employee would answer BK or the local one... So much for credibility...

So thank you

Here we go...

Back on topic: as a non-interested party, I'd say go with GWX. There's nothing wrong with RuB, as bigboywooly stated (I too remember using RuB as my first mod) but he's right...there's been a lot of progress in modding in the past 2 or 3 years since that mod's heyday.

I have played GWX since it was GW and was smart enough to burn each version to cd with all mods that work with each version.

Getting back to realism. The SH-3 realism settings let you dumb down or raise and works just fine with GWX 3.0 Gold as with earlier versions.

What do you set your realism settings at ?

btw That burger looks tasty. Yummm :D

@ Carotio

Ummmm yes whatever

I suggest you read the whole post in future
RuB and Iub were good in their day but have both been surpassed by ALL the supermods I mentioned
Personally I play more GWX than anything else
Well I would
BUT I also play WAC and LSH3
And am not afraid to give credit where is due
Heres one for you from yesterday

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147015

Are there are any patrols vs the poles during Sept 1939 or are the boats automatically ordered to the Atlantic?

Thanks
My reply ?

Most major mods allow you to start in August now so you can make your way around to the Baltic
WAC probably has the most on the Polish campaign in

Dont believe all you think

I guess, you lost your humour somewhere at sea...
No personal offence intended.

I was going to write another salesman example, but then you brought the main issue up yourself:
anybody should make up their own mind, at best with multi installs.

Happy hunting
