Sadly I was badly mistaken in assuming congress was not dumb enough to fall for Obama's PR stunt (I am not in love with Obama and do Oppose him on this and other things)

The new "June" deadline is a joke. It is meant to buy time to get ANOTHER year long delay so that some dumbass in the middle of nowhere can supposedly decide he needs a converter box after all.

This "safety" excuse is one of the worst I have ever seen. Anyone who relys solely on TV for news in an emergency is a flat out idiot. TV stations are easily damaged easily jammed and easily screwed with. Unlike radio where even a simple setup can broadcast news for hundreds of miles.

It is obvious the democrats will be for this. I am saddened to actually call for the republicans to use their fillibuster power to shut this down. As a democrat it is horrific to actually get to this point. I expected to call for the pubs to shut down stupid social program pr bills and not have to fight against somthing this stupid.

#1 If we delay we continue on this trend of stupidity that has led us to a nation with subpar broadband and high prices.

#2 Most analog stations have made contracts long ahead of time to shut down the analog feeds. Even if the deadline changes they will still shut down! over 60 percent of them!
