http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/8990/uo0003fg8.jpg

After receiving Mortar fire we discovered German troops right in the open

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/6830/uo0005su2.jpg

With a quik striking platoon we rushed to the south to take control of the road that goes to St. Mere-Eglise, secure the near located farm houses and take over the East Bridge.

Maj. Gen. Ridgway
Commander of the III/508th RCT/82nd Airborne Division
http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/1435/abd2ld8.jpg

You could compare our dropping with a cat that jumped over the wrong fence as there are German shepards waiting for him on the other side....

http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/2636/uo0011eh3.jpg

They came out from everywhere, the only thing we could was move fast and flank them.

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/7376/uo0012os1.jpg

The battle was fierce they really where a though bunch as they managed to hit us very hard.

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/223/uo0013ns5.jpg

We managed to take the village Amfreville....but we paid a high price for it

http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/1139/uo0014zt9.jpg

Battle result:
(seems I clicked the results too quik away and didnt get the losses, on both sides the losses where high thought)

Maj. Gen. Ridgway

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/7928/abd3kp2.jpg

We where to expect an counter attack from Azeville, so we set up our defences and where ready to give them a warm welcome.

http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/2365/uo0018zz5.jpg

We really had them good, they didnt had a chance of advancing deeper into St. Mere Eglise.

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/1394/uo0019uw8.jpg

There was a Infantry Geschütz that shot at the troops in the church so we had to take it out.

http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/3820/uo0021to0.jpg

Infantry Geschütz kaput!

http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/6639/uo0023lq0.jpg

Our orders where to secure the bocage area, we had to be extra carefull as we had poor visibilty true this natural defence.

http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/8928/uo0028xd3.jpg

Enemy spotted, open Fire!
They where very well positioned and kept us at bay se we had to make detour and flank them.

http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/2183/uo0031eg0.jpg

On the move to flank the enemy

http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/1118/uo0032gh2.jpg

Surrounding the enemy, but still they where giving heavy resistance.

http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/6610/uo0033gb0.jpg

We discovered Mortar fire that came from the Glider area so we went out to knock it out of service.

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/6890/uo0034yz6.jpg

The enemy was surrounded but still they kept fighting so we charged them like mad men!

http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/2403/uo0035wk9.jpg

http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/3576/uo0037ga9.jpg

One thing was for sure, we had to get of this darn beach or else we are going to get slaughtered.

http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/1097/uo0044iq0.jpg

The bunker had to be cleared, so we surrounded it but it wasnt easy to kick those germans out of it.

We wherent fighting the ordinary Germans here, we where fighting the Fallschirmjäger.

Everything started real quiet...

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/4342/uo0056eh5.jpg

But then....Sh!t!!! Surrounded!

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/4112/uo0057vq3.jpg

The situation was looking really bad...these guys where really though!

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/3534/uo0061bb2.jpg

They where very agressive in their tactics and they really kicked our butts

http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/2255/uo0059fz9.jpg

We couldnt do anything more then defend what we had, but even that was hard

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9976/uo0062vb3.jpg

We started to lose ground, but they had to pay a high price for every building they took.

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/8171/uo0063gb8.jpg

Our men where determend to hold the enemy off even if it costed their life.

Thats the campaign map (Pic1: zoomed out, pic 2:Zoom in you will see Army icons you can move around before you execute the day's order)
every engagement (which happens when the enemy army division is in the same area/province) will be fought on that same day.
you can see that from my AAR's I put the dates down the title
you can see on that screenshot (pic1) 2 clear green star area's these are won by a TOTAL VICTORY I've crushed the enemy in those battles so the area is now fully mine.
any other type of victory by you or the enemy (minor, Mayor) will only decide if you have the advantage/disadvantage the next day on that same battle, the area can only be won by a Total victory or when the enemy decided to pull the division out of the area.

so if you happen to score a Minor/Mayor victory (or if the enemy scored a minor or mayor) you'll have to fight it again the NEXT day.

hope it explains it a bit :)

One thing I can say about the Fallschirm, I want to shake the hand of Hitler for having such though guys before I shoot the bastard in the face.

We really started of on the wrong spot right in the open.

Enemy infantry spotted at the Bridge...

http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/5288/uo0069gb4.jpg

Where is this Enemy fire comming from!!! those damn germans have bigger mortars then us!

http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/2194/uo0070lo2.jpg

The bridge seemed to be of very big importance to them, they seemed to make us pay dearly for it but we made them pay too for keeping it

http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/816/uo0071vw1.jpg

Woohoo....one of our birds on the job.

On the west another party of men attempt to make a secure point accros the river
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/4011/uo0078yp9.jpg

Fallschirmjäger will kick yer butts all the way back to England!

As for the campaign, I might add that the supply is also modelled. You can cut off the enemy and they'll start with less ammo & fuel on the next day. I think you can cut them off both in the strategic map level (i.e. capture all surrounding sectors) or in combat by capturing the roads that lead to enemy held sectors, not sure about the latter tho. :hmm:

Moving from the South to the North to meet the Germans.

It was payback time, this time with the positions we captured in the previous encountermend we could take the advantage.

To the scrapyard with you!

http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/3671/uo0106ci4.jpg

Taking out the MG42 at the bridge, the only way was to charge them head on and make the fight men to men with smoke as cover.

http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/3959/uo0211tb3.jpg

We lost the road to Carentan, but the 3 squadse made it out there alive. We now have complete control over the Northen area, the next move is to kick them out

Attack was made in the east, my boys running to the Machine gun to support it.

An attack was also made in the farmhouse area, they never had a chance.
