Playing vanilla 1.4 (no mods), normal difficulty career. 300 odd pagesto surf through and yes, this list would have been a LOT longer but I found a lot of answers! Thanks!
#1: I'm from Sydney, Australia which was shelled by a Japanese sub in `42 and was keen to return the favour. Fired about 30 4.5 inch rounds at assorted chunky harbour installations including oil tanks, cranes and wharehouses....no effect. I'm guessing those moving cranes etc are just eye candy and NOT point scoring opportunities then?
#2: Can someone help me out with my crew abilities? I've got one guy with a "fanatical" rating (huh? He'll happily crawl into a tube with some oil and rags so I can trick the DDs into thinking they sank us?). Others will help torpedo speed (but he's a watchkeeping specialist???) or just "improves speed" (Of what? My deck gun? Maybe he polishes the mirror and uses a clean $100 bill? :hmm: ) Is there a list of the abilities / skills? Do they EVER match the training / speciality of the crewman?
#3: It's late 43 in my career and I'm still a lone wolf! I know from history the USN started coordinating subs into wolfpacks and I wondering if this will ever happen in a standard career. Getting tired of being ordered to take on a convoy with lots of escorts and managing to damage a few ships, sink a DD and having to sneak away.
By now two or three of subs should be vectoring in and taking turns hammering the convoy.
#4: I'd LOVE to get some multiplayer action in (for that wolfpack experience  ), but everytime I log in there aren't any games up and running. Any advice on a good time to check? I'm at Zulu +9 hours (Tokyo).
#5: Any advice on good mods? I'd really love to see some naval Tokko (special attack group AKA suicide) units eg "Kaiten" (modified Type 91 Long Lance torpedos with a Tokko pilot) or motorboats filled with explosives
#6: I've got some personal experience with HMAS Cerebus (the sub base in Fremantle), the artillery bunkers off Perth on Rottnest Island, some of the bunkers and installations around Tokyo Bay ( Nokogiriyama, Choshi radar base etc) and Hachijo Jima (c300km south of Tokyo). Shall I share? Want some pics?
#7: Is it so hard to spell the name of that 60,000 ton super battleship? Y-A-M-A-T-O! :nope:
