Haven't found another thread with this topic, my apologies if this is has been covered elsewhere. I'm playing the "vanila" game on for the mac and love it, the only thing is I'm wondering if I could ever install some of these fabulous mods people keep mentioning.
This is also a call out for multiplayers on a mac. If I understand correctly, multiplayer games can only be done on compatible machines and versions, no?
If there are mac users out there, reply with one ping... one ping only...

Can you be more specific? Are you playing on a Mac under OSX or are you running Windows with BootCamp, paralells, or fusion?
Also, what are the specs of the Mac? Particularly video card and memory.
I am very interested in this. I normally run on a PC with a fast video card, but I am temporarily stranded at a location with only Macs. Gotta love 'em, but I'll love 'em even more if I can run SH3 on them.
I use the windows version via wine on my linux machine. I know wine runs on mac too, so perhaps you could do something similar. If you want to go this route, I can save you some headache by telling you all the registry tweaks you'll need to do in wine to get it working.
Hi Kommandants ! I have PC and Mac. I am very, very interesting for SH3 on Mac.
I would like information for this. Thank You.
Greetings und gute Jagd !

Hi all, I run SH3 on an off the shelf 15" intel macbook pro, leopard OS, 1GB RAM, Nvidia GEFORCE 8600 graphics card
There's a Cider version of SH3 for Mac. Runs great for me, though I'm sure I'd get about 10-15% greater performance on a pimped out pc, I'm not complaining. Never been into the whole bootcamp thing. I just prefer to wait it out til a port comes along.

@cerror: Thanks for the tip on Wine; I shall check it out.
@willy: Thanks for stating this thread. The Mac I have access to is an Intel 2.3 ghz iMac with 3GB of memory and a Radeon X1600 w/256MB, so I am cautiously optimistic. The Cider method sounds interesting, too. Cannot find anything at Ubisoft regarding Cider, but did find this press release:http://www.transgaming.com/news/?id=106. And I did find a MacWorld article on it here http://www.macworld.com/article/58625/2007/06/cider.html
Where did you purchase your Ciderized SH3? Or a better question: do you know where can I purchase a copy?
My windows PC's mb half dead and I've been forced to mac only life now.
My 1st gen mbp doesn't have enough HD space for full bootcamp solution so I tried a cider version (you-know-what version, think). It's Leopard, core duo 1.83ghz (not core2), 2G ram.
SH3 boots up ok but 3D interioa doesn't get rendered and external 3D for own sub doesn't get rendered either, for the one I've got. I loaded only naval training (navigation) and the PT boats were rendered, although it wasn't looking good as well as water. 2D interface and sound however seemed fine.
My note's screen resolution is 1440*900. I had no idea how it would be handled, turned out it didn't strech and so black side bars on both side (which I'd prefer so far for having not perfect wide-screen solution yet available).
Gets slow on 3D interior, but maybe this is related to the rendering problem above. Kinda hoped at least moderately working for the video of my mbp is about radeon9000.. but so far it is not playable :wah:
Is there any problem with starforce with bootcamp?

15" MBP. 2.4, 4GB RAM, 8600M GT.
Play both SH3 and SH4 on a bootcamp partition in XP - work swimmingly. Using NHancer to tweak the graphics performance. SH3 runs beautifully no glitches, great quality - SH4 I have to take a bit of a graphical hit to get decent performance. I'm incredibly happy with SH3 though since purchasing in a fortnight ago.
