hunting grounds

Well, I usually have only 2 hunting grounds that i usually go to, but, wanted to see where other captains here are having luck at, usually i go patrol AM and catch a convoy bringin supplies from the U.S., or patrol around Ireland, I usually have good luck there.

Is a good one ! Big ships there .
But I'm not sure with the GWX3.0 Gold , haven't really tested out yet:-?


Grid DB-98 :

June 1942 innside , 22km NW of NW corner of DM-31 ,
there is a channel for 2shipconvoys and lone merchants ,
big tankers , whale-factory ships and lots of other goodies:yep:

Grid ED-9 ( NW port of Spain ):p

Grid -BF-13 :
1939-1940 ( just lay and wait )

Take your ruler and draw a line from the SW corner of BE39 toward the ENE at a bearing of 65 degrees. This area is on the path to and from AM destinations and close to the bases in France.

Early in the war, I hunt both sides of this line, finding unescorted large ships and some convoys heading for Bristol. Often I have found a large tanker escorted by another tanker (or a large cargo). Yum.

Watch out for the continental shelf, especially in daylight. And watch for planes in BF14 and especially BF15.

AM53 and the northen entrance into the Irish [Keltische] Sea is pretty nice. Sank two merchants before I ran out of torpedoes. (Expended the rest coming up the North Sea) South entrance into the Irish Sea is also pretty full. I've run into several convoys coming out through there.

Picked up lots of warships on hydrophones, though. Not sure how many were actually destroyers and how many were just annoying patrol craft.

AM 51 and 52 are safer than 53, if only because the water is deeper.

The Med. Pretty much anywhere that ships are likely to have to go. Plently of warship targets as well.

Early war ('39-'41) BF13 is pretty good. Watch out for MTB's though. They often patrol that area in pairs. Nasty little things...:nope:
