Different subs, different missions?

Hey again guys.

I´m a bit bored with the regular objectives I get during my carrer play. I allways get either "Deploy at" or "patrol this area". Is the different types of missions connected to what submarine you got? I wanna have some photo-missions or spy insertions etc. Should I swith from a Tambor-class sub or doesnt it matter?

If it matters, wich sub is recomended?
If it doesnt matters, will it come later or what?

Are you running the add-on ver. 1.5? I noticed a big variety of missions that I didn't have before once I upgraded.

Although I do like the S-Boats I mostly select the Tambor or Gar class early in the War because I also like the big fleet boats - then the game gives me a new command of a Gato class & Balao class as they become available later on. I don't think the boat matters regarding variety of types of missions though.

I also get a variety of secondary objectives once I radio in that my primary objective is completed ... and so on.

Speaking of add-on and 1.5... There is a lot of talking about SH4 1.5 and I´ve search for 1.5 but have not been able to find it.

Is it a patch that you can download or is it a patch that comes with an add-on and in that case, wich add-on? :doh:

1.5 comes with the U-Boat missions expansion.

Correct. Normally you'll get the general deploy missions, but there are also chances of getting Lifeguard and supply/commando drop missions.

Try RSRDC. As cool as the realistic traffic is, as someone who also built a campaign I can say that the most impressive bit to me is how great the mission objectives and retasking are.

Seriously, that's every bit as much work as the campaign itself, and is sort of invisible to most people.

as for hauling ... to get the ad-on, its still available only as a download as far as i know.

the only way to get it on disk is to buy sh4 "gold" edition and it comes with the ubm ad-on v1.5 on disk
