Hello,
Im sorry that i made new topic with another question

Ok, since i installed SH4, 2 days later i get problems, i dont think SH4 is the reason, but this is what happens:
I start a game, e.g SH4, it loads up, 2/3 of the loading bar done, and my computer freezes and i hear the last 3 seconds of the sound over and over again, i cant move my mouse, and alt + tab/ctrl + alt + delete/alt + F4 doesnt works.
All i can do i restart the computer. I have the same problem with other games e.g: Battlefield 2, silent hunter 3.

I opened my computer, and cleaned the inside from the dust etc with a brush and compressed air.
The drivers are up to date, and the computer is virus free.

Can it be that a mod for SH4 is the problem ?(after some mods i hae this, but i dont blame them immediatly)

Anyone has an idea what the problem might be ?
Thanks, Ducky.

it looks to me like you are at the bare minimum edge of your system memory just to run sh4.

i suspect you simply ran out of memory and the computer is freezing because it cant load the data to finish.

i'm sure you already know you need a new system and i think you have run out of time waiting. adding more memory will help if you can get it free or near free, but i wouldnt spend any new money unless its to upgrade the mobo and processor along with minimum 2gb ram

for now anyway delete everything you dont need and transfer all your data files to a thumb drive to free up space on your computer then try the game again. if that doesnt work then delete the sh4 folder in your "my documents" to get rid of any saved games data.

Yes, in 2 months i want to buy a good pc.

I have 2000 € for a new pc, so i think i will get a good pc then.
Tomorow i will reinstall Windows, and format everything, reinstall SH4, and see if that matters.

What i dont understand, is that i have played this game before, without problems.
I will follow your tips and see what helps :D

Thank you.

You can also stretch your Memory,go to Memory hit Advanced Mode
There Custom make It,Make your Max Memory Your Least,
Then Type in 9999 As Your Max Memory, hit Save,
Now Parts of your Computer will work like Never before In Gaming,
Hope this helps.:arrgh!:

Computer, Then System Properties,Then Advanced System Settings,
There You will Find Your Memory Settings,Click On That and do Custom Setting,
Set Your Max Memory To Minimum Say Its 389mega bits,Put that as Minimum,Now Type In 9999 As Your Max Memory,Apply Settings,Your Good to go.

duckdevil, I think owner is referring to virtual memory settings and the size of the paging area reserved on your hard drive for swapping out files from RAM. While it may help, it is not a true substitute for extra physical memory. Just thought I ought to mention this... :)

Windows XP.

By the way, thanks for the virtual memory tip, i did it, but it does not seems to solve the problem, however my computer is faster now :D

So, i guess i just have to defragmentate and reinstall windows and then see if its solved, if not, then i have a hardware problem.
