I just did a scan of Silent Hunter 4 on YouTube and found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVDesBGdJC0

When the fella goes up into the conning tower his mouse flips over a hatch and it lights up.

My game never does that !

What gives?

Are the hatches actually usable? Can you go into other rooms? My game only allows movement from the control room up to the conning tower and then up to the deck above.

No.. wait a minute.

In my sub there isn't even a hatch in the conning tower at the back. The only one is up the ladder.

What am I missing here?

I watched the Utube videoyou posted. Your sub should be able to do all that dependiing on the class sub. That sub looked like a Sargo/Salmon class. Are you using a S-class? That class doesn't have access to all hatches.

Ah yes, that might be the problem then.

I've only played the Gar, Gato and Balao. I've never used an S-Class before.

Thanks guys!

I would have thought the Gato's and Balao's would have all those access hatches. I guess I never looked. I'll have to check when I get home tonight.

How's the weather there?

Here. You need not ask.

We are getting the occasional frost at night and from what day shift tells me 80's during the day some days but mostly high 60's or mid 70's in the day. It's like paradise when you remember the 143 degree days.

The reserse is true here -10 with -28 windchill. Nice considering it isn't -30 to -40 with windchill. Stay safe.
