I've just noticed on my dad's machine that the graphics around the outside of the periscope are of poor quality and dark. The view in the scope itself is OK. I can see the ocean vaguely when it is in the down position. I've just converted his game to TMO with RSRD. I hadn't noticed this 'glitch' prior to installing TMO.
It's a bit of an immersion downer. Any suggestions?
thanks.

correct me if I'm wrong but Isn't your scope supposed to be up to see the sea?? not in the down position? I'm confused can you re-phrase the question??
do you mean the graphics like the slide out panels or the background behind said panels?

I guess I didn't explain it well but yes the "background behind said panels" is what I'm trying to describe. Even in the stowed position that background looks kinda crappy and I can make out bubbles etc.:-?

well just the round scope area of it should be clear, and to the sides it's black to simulate looking through a scope.
other than that It should all be black...at least in stock
so your saying that you can see through the black and that's bad???
what mods do you have? and screen shots???

Well, I'm not sure if this is what you are speaking of, but Ducimus (TMO author) altered the scope to be darker at the edges of the viewing field in the scope to represent a more lifelike view. There are also a few occlusions (scratches and such) and he also modded the observation scope to be more capable to view at night, as in real life. In the stock game, AFAIK, there is almost no difference between the two scopes. There are some other scopes available in the mods section. here's a link to a scope mod I like. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=131981&highlight=scopes There are a few different options here, read the thread carefully.
