This story is about captain blue and his war efforts during Operation Weserübung.
As like many other soldiers and sailors i too was getting ready for a new military operation.
Laying in the harbour next to other submarines and military ships i began getting doubts that germany wouldn't win the war against the british.
I feared something worse would happen to me and my brave crew.
Standing on the bridge i looked the sun go down and knew the time has come to go to war once again.
Early in the morning we all set sail for norway some of us already left earlier and some waited a little more i guess.
When we reached the norwegian coast i saw a beautiful picture that i will never forget.
A whole line of german ships equipped with armor and guns.
As i was watching the ships i heard a sound in the distance
PLANES !
it were ours !
the operation was really beginning now!
We had to hurry, we need to protect our kameraden i commanded to my brave crew!
We went out up the northsea to search for a counterattack.
I thought the counterattack of the british would have been in the south but i was wrong they were coming from the north!
there it was: Task Force heading norway.
I ran to my navigator ordered him the distance between us and the task force.
400 kilometres ! We CAN make it!
SCHNELL 17 knots !
We rushed to help unsere kameraden to the battle scene.
We were hearing many radio calls of ships sunk and infantry getting heavy losses so we had to attack.
Early in the morning i was yelled awake by one of my watchmen.
Her kaleun ! Smoke on the horizon !
KEEP GOING DON't DIVE we need to attack !
As the crew was getting scared i showed no fear.
We only dive when we are close enough i ordered.
As we were getting closer i saw this was a big taskforce !
A battleship and one cruiser with it.
But the attack sure would not be easy.
I saw 10 other smoke plumes on the horizon.
I began having doubts attacking this task force now.
after 2 hours under water with periscopes up i was close enough and ordered to fire 3 torpedo's .
2 were a hit the third a dud.
The crew was excited but i wasn't i knew now we would get what was coming to us.
after a minute or two i heard the sound of their asdic.
How many? I asked my radio man
4 coming fast 3 others are changing course.
The crews morale was as small as dirk our engineer's penis when he fell in the water at night on a excercise and we didn't notice he was missing after a hour.
WASSERBOMBE
Some started crying, some grabbed their wrenches and myself... i grabbed my navigation desk and held the navigator close to me as he was like my son.
The damage given to the ship was a big one !
batteries were destroyed and so was my hydrophone and rudder.
We were making heavy flooding , like many onboard we knew this was the end.
Until Dirk ran in the command room with some good news.
Compressor intact! aft batteries intact!
however it took a long time before the flooding was stopped.
the depth was 190 meter.
I knew the boat could'nt get more of these depthcharges so i ordered everything to stop.
However we got lucky the destroyers i feared were in those big numbers even a weakness.
5 were encirkeling us while the other one depthcharged us on and on.
This battle went on for 4 hours.
When it was night we came back up with very bad damage and i immediately contacted bdu for help.
The crew wanted some revenge this time!
we wanted the BATTLESHIP!
after 1.5 days of searching we found him!
he was heavily crippled and couldn't hold course.
I assumed many were taken of the ship and some brave souls tried to keep it flooding.
but i was wrong again.
i heard the sound of big artillery shells flying over the cunning tower. The ship is fully manned and firing at us her kaleun !

even until today i still don't understand the foolishness of the captain of that ship
he knew that his ship would have sunk, why didn't he ordered his screw to get off?
Why did they have to die with him.
I don't know.
I ordered two more of my torpedo's to fire at the battleship to finish him off.
both were a hit and the ship immediately stopped making speed and was nearly capsizing at this point.
But it didn't sink.
Tough one herr kaleun my son told me.
yes boy yes .
FINISH him off ! i told to dirk who was also the torpedo man for my poop torpedo's

I ordered to go home.
Enough damage ;) to the drydocks it is for us kameraden!
