Hi guys, I need your opinion.
Which of these should I buy for now ??:hmm:
Thx !!
Both have demos available:

If MP play is important to you, then only ANW offers it at this time. A test MP demo session is possible, if you like.
Also, you can check out the lists of known current issues on each version and make your own decision on whether or not the state of the game is acceptable for you:

When dealing with Harpoon, always check out the facts for yourself.

Both are excellent. Others will have their own opinions but I've tried them both and I like ANW. The vector graphic look and the additional parameters (such as damaging individual structures in a target) and such really give me the feel of sitting at a naval command station somewhere directing things. I didn't quite get that feel from Harpoon Commanders' Edition.
That said, the user interface is much easier to learn and use in Commanders' Edition. The whole game is a lot easier to learn as a matter of fact. Commanders edition doesn't get into as much of the nitty gritty as ANW does and ANW has multiplayer capability.
Everyone in the Harpoon community has their own opinion of what they like better and a lot of them play both so like Herman said. Check them both out and see which of them fits your play style.
The bug lists of both games are slowly getting squashed as well, bit by bit (after a lot of bad blood going on between the players and AGSI... especially for ANW).

Thanks for the quick answers.
I downloaded both and Harpoon ANW looks best to me,although the learning curve is not easy at all.

Harpoon ANW has one of the most intense learning curves of almost every game I've ever played. You think the learning curve is insane for that game, try learing the rules for the tabletop miniatures version. It's INSANELY complex.:o
I've learned more about naval warfare systems and tactics from reading the manuals for the tabletop version of Harpoon, Command at Sea, and Fear God and Dread Nought, than I've learned in 90% of the books I've read about naval stuff. Even if those games never hit the table, they're great learning tools.
The same could be said for the Harpoon videogame manuals.

Walking now into Harpoon ANW tutorials and must say this is an excellent game.
Also the game s manual is very well explained, an example of what DW manual should have been...
Just be aware that there are numerous problems with the Tutorials. They will tell to do XX to get result YY, but then it won't happen.
Here are a few examples so that you don't think that you are crazy when things don't work the way the Tutorials describe (some may have been fixed by the 394 demo, others may persist):
