Starforce....

Hi all,

I've recently dug my copy of SHIII off the shelf, and installed it again. Clean, original install of version 1.0 off the DVD. Loaded fine.

I've now downloaded the 1.4 patch and installed, and the starforce copy protection is saying my code is invalid!

I've searched, and already tried re-entering the code, making sure caps was off etc, and it's still refusing to load.

Any ideas?

Uninstall via the discs 'uninstall' option,

Ensure you have deleted the SH3 folder in C\MyDocs

Same with C\Program files

Perform a registry clean

Now hopefully it should install.

I recomend that if you use GWX 2.1 you go to a game
download site & dl A electronic SHIII patched to 1.4 already.

No more using a disk or password as everything is on
your drive. I got mine from Direct2Drive I belive.

When GWX 3 comes out it will make your life a lot easier.

i dont use it, its a bad idea, could have viruses. but some work its not advised.

i hate starforce, they killed my game of king kong the official game of the movie.

If you can't get your problem solved you can pick up a newer copy of the game here: http://yhst-12000246778232.stores.yahoo.net/sihuiii.html. Just specify that you would like a pre-patched, no Starforce version. I got a 1.4b EMEA (English Version) from them about 6 months ago after my original copy started acting up. There is no activation code to retain & the game plays without the dvd once you install it.

I had a look on Steam and Direct2Drive, but unfortunately neither site seems to sell SHIII on it's UK stores, only the US ones :(

Anyway, I did some more digging outside of these shores, found a solution, and now all is well - I'm 5 or 6 days into my first patrol, somewhere to the west of Ireland, patrolling my assigned grid square. No ship sightings yet though, I shall head to a known convoy route once my 24 hours is done!
