What is this topic for?

If you are just trying to revel in the bashing SM1 is taking in that thread, then that
really isn't on. :nope:

I think the community would call Enigma mistaken for starting this meaningless thread...

You mean like the numerous ones Sub starts about global warming or atheism? Please, the linked thread is a typical Subman post.

There is a big difference between attacking an idea and a person. Maybe you can guess which you have done here?

PS. As they say, when you attack the person instead of the idea, you have already lost the argument.

I believe, every time a new thread is started, a Steed gets his wings....some where out there.

That difference being? When you attack an idea, you attack the people who follow that idea.

The difference is that attacking the man instead of the idea is a logical fallacy an ad hominem(sp?) attack i think it was called. Besides by attacking an idea you do not attack the people supporting that idea, you show their idea to be in conflict with reality and if they are rational people they get another idea more in tune with reality. Emphasis on the word rational there ;)

That difference being? When you attack an idea, you attack the people who follow that idea.Incorrect. If you were correct, then there would be no wrong ideas and no capability of discussion of those ideas.

Then why wouldn't you keep the discussion in the single thread? Just askin...For the same reason we allow you to post in more than one thread. Maybe we shouldn't do it, but we do.

Because this thread relates to the others. That makes no sense.

You guys can obviously do what you want but, in my opinion, its poor form to start a thread where the first post is simply a link to another thread.

I don't even see why you're defending it considering the person who started it admitted: Don't get your panties in a bunch, ladies. It wasn't even supposed to be a thread.Mods can feel free to delete...

The topic as a whole, I mean: meaningless threads. That's what you and I were talking about, and I was saying that I generally find Subman's threads meaningless.

The topic as a whole, I mean: meaningless threads. That's what you and I were talking about, and I was saying that I generally find Subman's threads meaningless. Then why start a meaningless thread about it? Why not just avoid his threads?

I don't agree with Subman on some things (haven't read up enough to know all his positions), but I certainly would either challenge him directly on those issues versus starting something for the sole purpose of challenging him in general.

I might be missing something here, but that's my point nonetheless...
