Why cheat?:hmm: The way to do it is, to establish your targets course, and outflank him just outside of visual range. Your boat has a very low profile compared to a surface ship. Race ahead of him while keeping the smoke from his stack(s) visible on the horizon. If your boat has radar, all the better:yep: You could use it to track your prey. Once well ahead of him, turn 90 degrees to his course, dive, and wait for him to come to you!

Higher Speed -> More Noise -> Easier Detected, so unless you add a warp drive and call your sub the SS-1701 Enterprise, you'd be better of with slower speeds, careful planning, patience and some decoys.

Heres a tip, they cant 'hear' you while your surfaced. They can 'see' you though.

So just stay out of visual range, hit flank and work into position. At flank you can outrun all but the fastest of convoys.

The fastest convoys of course, are task forces. Can't outrun battleships or carriers, even at flank. Its better to do a lot of math than MISS THE AKAGI

Aye, you can keep them in visual range without them spotting you. You will see them much sooner than they will see you. Once I hear from my crew "ship spotted" I generally don't wait too long to dive, but sometimes, depending on visibilty factors, size and experience, you may have a longer period before they spot you. All of these posts make excellent points.

Hi Drazic,
Nobody has actually answered your question so try this. Open the submarine folder, pick the boat you want, open the .cfg file and change the max submerged speed. I imagine that will do it!

Hi Drazic,
Double click on the .cfg file, it's only a text file.
You could also use Mini tweaker and change it in the sub.sim file under Electric propulsion.
Good luck,

just open it in windows using "notepad" and make any changes you want but if your changing underwater speed you may as well up the surface speed as well :arrgh!:
