It's time for us to step up to the plate gentlemen. We have a new SH4 fan many of you may now be familiar with by the name of McHub. He is currently serving in Iraq and has limited download capabilty. He desires to try some of the larger mods, first on his list is RFB. I told him surely someone here would be willing to put this on a DVD and mail it to him. I would GLADLY do it for him myself if my computer had a DVD burner. I have a player, no burner. Could someone assist him? He has sent me the mailing info through a private message, so I won't post the info here without his permission. I think it may be a good idea to also include TMO, PE4 and EE5.0 in case RFB is not his cup of tea. Let's give this guy a great Chrismas present and show him what Subsim is all about. If someone does not offer and come through, I'll find a way myself. If nothing else, let's wish this guy giving all for his country a very Merry Chrismas and a very big THANK YOU for serving us and his country.
MERRY CHRISTMAS McHUB ! and God Bless You and Yours.

McHub532 knocks once sharply on the metal threshold of the captain's quarters and when he is told to enter he pulls the curtain aside and steps into the small personal quarters of the captain.

"Sir, it is an honor to server under your command," he says after coming to attention and offering a crisp salute.

He lowers his salute and remains at attention, "Thank you for helping me and taking care of this personal matter Sir."

"Yes Sir, getting back to work," he offers in response and salutes once more.

After the captain returns his salute he does an about face and leaves the captain's cabin.

Thank you guys! I am humbled and have fallen in love with Subnet now. If a guy can do that and remain masculine. :)

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!

This film was made by a 15-year-old girl. It is the hottest thing on the internet and on Fox News today.

Lizzie Palmer, who put together this YouTube program, is 15 years old. There have been more than 3,000,000 hits as of this morning. In case you missed it, here it is.

Watch all of it.......and pass it on!!

I honor all of those that prayed for my safety when I served by praying for those I know who now serve. McHub532 you now have a fellow sub sim captain praying for your safety.

If you want a laugh, search for Lane's post re redecorating the office. You need to decorate your living quarters like that if you haven't already.

This group of men humble me.

Thank you all for not only what you offer but what you do. You have already offered and came through for me more than I thought complete strangers would ever do. I am proud to call you my friends.

Well done men, well done.

Well, to be honest I was a little miffed at Soundman's original wording:
It's time for us to step up to the plate gentlemen.
Not because it's not true, and not because we shouldn't, but because I've seen many requests like this over the years, and the fact is that someone here always steps up to the plate and takes a swing, and it's always a home run (sorry, couldn't resist overworking the analogy).

I've been on both the recieving and giving side of life here, and this is indeed the best bunch of so-called 'gamers' it's ever been my privilege to know.

McHub, no need to feel humbled (though I often find it's a good one to hang onto). Stick around, and before you know it you'll be the one giving time, money, discs, or just information to any and all.

I love this place, and I love all (well, most) of you guys.

Merry Christmas!

Since we are all in the Christmas mood, run to the bank and wire me all of the money in your account(s). I need it to pay for the Senate seat being advertised on e-bay.

I would be happy to send him anything he needs. Just shoot me a PM.

He's a man of honor and a man of his word.

Today I recieved a little cardboard box with three DVD's in it.

RFB v1.52 + v1.52 Patch
Trigger Maru Overhauled + TMO Update
And Gramaphone MP3's

Oh my, it's gunna be like a brand new game now. :) I was just started to get board with my Balao class taking down 100,000+ tons every mission. Time to crank up the real and feel the pain! :)

Thank you so much Kylesplanet !!

Oh Heavens!!

Just the intro screens and the game starting up now is incredible.

Where can I go to get my RFB tattoo? :D

McHub532

Oh oh oh !!

The background screens in port are awesome!

The medals on the crew management look real now!

When you highlight the items (guns, radar, etc) installed on your sub now it gives you information about what they are, stats and stuff. Wowza!

Holy Cow! The dial's are much larger and the zoom when you put your mouse over them makes them enormous. WooHoo! No longer the need for the Dark Dial Mod.

Wow.. Animated Fans mod is part of it. No need for that Mod any more.

Shift + F2 doesn't put me at an uncomfortable location by the Helmsman anymore, I remain standing. Awesome!

What?!?! Going back to the desk behind the Helmsman and I get a clock ticking sound from the clock. Oh My Goodness! You guys Rock my World!!

An additional girl picture at the desk.. like his personal girlfriend and not a pinup girl. Nice!

OH MY GOODNESS! One of the crew members just caughed !!

Neat.. it calls my Helmsman a "Diving Officer" when I move my mouse over him.

Wowza! What's this Attack Plot view icon now.. look at this!!

Look at the torpedo tube selection and fire buttons now. Oh my goodness this IS a whole new game!

Navigator has a 'Maximum Range' button that gives me an estimate of the sub's maximum operating range at current speed. How wicked cool is this?

Weather report too? Hot Dog!

Holy MOSES BATMAN!!

You can't jump to a dark screen periscope.. you have to raise it first. Nice, I like that.. BUT... look at that water out there and the clarity.. I didn't know my graphics card could even do that!!

All those Real Water mods I had going before I thought rocked. But just straight RFB with the patch puts them all to shame. Mind you I couldn't make a mod to save my life but oh my goodness this RFB about makes me weep it's so beautiful.

Radar Depth! Fantastic!
I've been raising up to about 45 feet before coming up for fresh air to let my radar scan the skies first. Now I have a button to do it automatic for me. How cool is that?

All Crew to Battle Stations!
Amazing Audio.. the bell sounds so REAL, the men can be heard running to their places... this is insane awesome!!

Gramaphone has a neat little toggle switch on it to hide it. Coolness.

Wow, the radio looks REAL.

sweet, the outside camera lets me zoom in real close to my sub and look all around without the 'don't get so close' boundries.

How embarrasing. I had two "Master Diving Officers" in my Engine Rooms all this time. It wasn't until RFB that it showed/told me where they were supposed to be placed (In the control room).. oh my goodness.. that fella on my sub just caughed again. Where's my medic?

Woooowa! When underwater with the camera you hear little bubble noises !!

Only one question:

What happened to my flak guns and why won't it let me install them on my Balao class sub anymore? Was this a -fix-, fixing a timeline issue with real life that flak guns were not installed on the Balao or not until later in the war? ? ?

One more Question:

I am not supposed to have RFB and TMO running/loaded at the same time.. right?

No, I wouldn't suggest that. No telling what kind of result you might get, I'd just use one or the other. BTW, Glad you got your package, thanks again Kyle.

Oh my oh my oh my oh my !!

I can use "floating camera" ability in the conning tower without any secret Shift + F2 and passing through a wall at a certain angle trick.. and it works even up on the deck. I can go around the watch crew now and talk to them. This ROCKS !!

You should have your AA guns though you do have to click the shell icon to load it. A little word of warning though, don't play around with the planes in RFB. The sub damage model in RFB will get you on the bottom real quick like. ;)

I totally agree with everything that is writen in this topic.

I visits many game forums like flightsim, Call of duty and racing games.
For all these games a painted skins, cars etc.

This is the only forum where people appreciate what you're doing. Even the developers !
Also everybody respects each other..

A big salute to the devs from Ubisoft, everyone at Subsim, all modders and everyone that visits this forum !!!!

You guys rock

You all have a great 2009 :arrgh!:
