Nice, shame it don't look much different to the rest, but the environments look pretty cool.

Yes looks like an evolution rather than a revolution, not always a bad thing though.

I hope this isn't going to be like the initial release of Ship Simulator 2008. That one was buggy, and didn't even have radio communications until a much later release.

Games like this unfortunately taught me just how incredibly boring ships can be when they aren't shooting at something. :) On the bright side, that brought player down time to my attention in naval sims. IE: How to make the non-combat sections anything but tedious which seems to be the case in most naval sims.

I threw out some ideas like more control stations, repair and operation mini games, even crew interaction like boxing matches and card games. People lived on these freaking boats ya know. :)

I sure hope this game is a big improvement over SS08 (and isnt rushed out.):yep: I do have to say that SS08 gets boreing after a while.

What I would like to see is this ship simulator with a manager part and an underwater component. And I wonder what other players would think if all these parts were combined into a treasure hunting sim (ship sim plus scuba, mini subs and some adventure parts)?

That would be awesome. I know it sounds a tad unrealistic, but I think a ship design/customisation kinda thing would be cool. Like changing paint jobs, equipment, engines, even hull size/shape etc. lol that brings to mind the picture of a some sort of powerboat with a huge spoiler, nos, neons and somehow a bodykit. heh. Blingin'

Ya know. lots of people have asked for that. but they never provide it, I don't think anything will happen like that any time soon. (trust me, I use to be on there Forum). There is only 1 ship where you can edit its paint.:yep: I think it is because Vstep dosent have enough employees to spread the work around, and make a tool that will do stuff like that. They also don`t appear to support mods. They have lock all files (including the weather preset files where you can play with the weather and make larger(and more unrealistic acting but fun) waves) They havent even made anything like S3d to edit small parts of the game/ change things on models.

ex draft of a ship so you can go into shallower areas

what about a possibility to actually damage ur boat while coliding with another vessel (for example: when ur sailing and ur on the point of colliding without a chance to change course instead of going over a boat, you crash into it and actually see damage and sinkings) that would be a great pro on the game.

They already have a (not that great) damage model, where you can make a hole in your ship. (sh3/4s damage model is 60 times better)

At the SS boards they also said that they don't want Warships, and they don't want subs apparently. They think it will increase ramming in MP which vary few people use.

Yeah, I noticed that, they all seem to be really against getting warships into the game, although I did see a vid of a Frigate in the Pro version. I've never really understood why people don't seem to want mods to their game either. Often mods are what keep a game alive.
