It has been a few weeks since this happened but knowing that a few of you who I met a the Subsim Meeting are well aware of my "crotch rocket" ways, I thought I would update you and let you know I took a little spiil on my Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R a while back. To save typing and relinking the pictures I will just give you a link to my post on my normal hangout at Octopus Overlords.

I am pretty much fully recovered at this point and working on fixing my ride back up for spring. Unfortunately this has curtailed my planned trips to visit Neal and spend the time at the Cavalla I had hoped to spend. You can rest assured I will make up for it with extra visits this spring and summer though. Maybe I can even manage to get someone to take a few shots of Neal riding the beast as I know he enjoyed the few minutes he got on her before I left after the subsim meeting. I count the days until I can venture out to the asphalt jungles in his company once again.

<wince> lucky it wasn't worse, though. You got to work the sheen off them new tires!;)

Of course, now you have a chance to paint it a proper color, like red:D

Glad to hear you're doing ok, though.

Indeed, and I knew that but it slipped from my mind as I was riding through a new roundabout in the area. I figure it was a cheap and relatively painless (although still very painful) way to learn that lesson well. We both know how hard I like to ride and had I been doing 140 instead of 40 when it happened you would be asking "Whatever happened to that Rip dude?".

Oh and it will still be green, because everyone knows green is faster!

Aii!
Get some leathers.
I went for a good slide last week and I was very glad to be clad up.

Happy riding.

For Rip and all of us who have "tasted tarmac", a little ditty...

(Sung to "The Sound of Silence")

Hello pavement my old friend,
I've fallen down on you again,
Because a rain gently seeping,
fell last night while I was sleeping,
And the oil on the roadway
was hard to see in the morning light,
I dumped my bike,
and limped away... in silence...

Maybe the last line should read

I was taken away.... to the sound of sirens!:hmm:

It's easy to get overconfident sometimes isn't it?:rotfl:

Perhaps we'll have the chance to see which color is faster at the next U.S. Subsim meet:hmm: I mourn the loss of my 98' CBR 900 to theft, but I'm confident that the Black-on-red CBR 1000 I have picked out will vindicate itself:p ;)

Try not to kill yourself until then. You have lots of submarine stories I haven't heard yet;)

Hey Rip,
Theres only two types of motorcycle riders..........

Those that have been down...
and those that are going down eventually.............

Get well and see you on the road again............
