Since resupplying from the Thalia, in Cadiz, I've noticed a marked decrease in speed compared to EOT setting? "Ahead 1/3" would usually result in 10 knots in my VIIB...since leaving the Thalia I'm only getting 7 knots? I'm not charging batteries or such. Anyone else ever seen this type of behavior? Weather is calm.

Check your running on 'standard propulsion'

HMMmm...went back to saved game and everything was normal.
When it "fixes itself"...I'm not going to complain! ;)

Are you running the malfuntions setting in SH3 Commander? That would explain it if you are.

I don't use the malfunctions thing with Commander but doesn't it do random jazz like that?

I am...but wouldn't there be some notification of a problem? I saw nothing.

The malfunctions and sabotage function is randomly applied at the start of each patrol.

Come to think of it, it doesn't sabotage the crew. I think there should be a mod where the crew get taken out due to disease. Imagine the plague on board a sub :hmm:

It does "sort of" sabotage your crew sometimes. If you check the realistic crew transfer option you will get messages like "So & so was killed in a bar fight, killed by partisans, arrested by the local police for drunkeness," etc. In the book U-Boat War Patrol by Lawrence Paterson, one of Teddy Suhren's crew is stricken with severe arthritis during the patrol. They had to arrange for him to be transferred to a boat that was returning from patrol.
