View Full Version : Killergroup Task!
Hi! Approximately how many unit was this in the hunting group, or when are the start upp (year) ?
Enough to make you run with your tail between your legs :dead:
Expect lots of destroyers... At least more than four. And elite crews. Unless they're sailing with a very desirable target like a carrier I would run far away from these. And if they have advanced sonar well you're going to spend a rough couple of hours.
If you do insist to go after them make sure that you have an escape plan and engage them at max range. Good luck.
IŽam just a bit inquiry about the condition,in the task.

Do you mean "hunter killer groups"
According to http://www.uboat.net/allies/ships/hunter.htm, a hunter killer group consists of several destroyers or destroyer escorts and a escort carrier. The escort carrier in game performs no functions other than a torpedo target through since ingame vessels cannot launch planes

AFAIK ingame carriers DO launch aircraft as long as an airbase is in range also
Swordfish in GWX are only available on carriers not land bases and I have been attacked many times by them
Martletts also

There is usually an illustrious carrier north of Scapa in early September....her flight of Swordfish will and do attack. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif
Probably the most famous of the 'hunter killer groups':

So in 1942 they are more aggressive, after the meeting the AI leaders have about the problem u-boat, so the solve this with the group?

In game, tha AI leaders probably don't meet to discuss anti u-boat strategy, like they did in real life (Casablanca, Jan '43). :D
The AI becomes deadly about that time, and the hunter-killer groups are one of the reasons.

Crews become veterans or start gaining elite status and radar becomes more prevalent....the hunters start to become the hunted. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif
