Perfect Defender 2009 is a fake virus scanner malware and spyware. It just want you to pay. Don't fall into the same mistake i have done.

This sounds like the description for Norton and McAfee hehe. I use backups, viruses are free, the anti-virus is not.

I like AntiVir myself. Easy to set up, non invasive, free updates, and I got a kicka** rebate from them, so It only cost me 60 bucks for 3 years, then I just need to renew it. It has saved my but quite a few times now for what should be safe browsing.

It also saved me from a bogus email that looked official from US Bank, and warned of it being a phishing expedition, which I don't have any accounts with this bank, so I called their customer service dept. to see if they knew about it, and they did confirm that it is a fraudulent email they are working on.

So be careful boys and girls!

You could try the Installer Cleaner from MS first.

I bet its a variant of "antivirus 2009".. which has been going around a while..
Lavasoft Adaware (which there is a free version of) will prolly take it out..
It will get the actual files that are nasty but depending on the variant you might have to go into msconfig or registry to remove it from trying to autoload.

I do not understand why most do not like Norton. I have used if for over 8 years without issue. I back it up with Windows Defender. The last time I had a Trojan was back in High School and I kept it in my wallet;)
