View Full Version : Invalid Argument to Date Encode error
I've done a search & what I've found doesn't seem to apply to my situation. I am using SH3 Cmdr 3.13 which has been updated & the GWX config files are installed too. I finished the first patrol of a new career and when I went to display my patrol results in SH3 Cmdr I got an Invalid Argument to Date Encode error.:damn: I had saved the game several times during the patrol & I gave each save a different name. I did not delete any of the saved games either. I am using Vista so SH3 Cmdr is installed outside of the Program Files folder & I run the program as an administrator & I've checked the Run in Windows XP SP2 compatibility box as well.
Thanks in advance for for any help.:)

This is an SH3 bug that sometimes gets through SH3Cmdr's error handling. The usual way to fix is to reload your last in-game save before docking and redock. This usually forces SH3 to write the correct details. The other side effect of this game bug is that you lose tonnage sunk values. Unfortunately, while SH3Cmdr intercepts a LOT of random SH3 behaviour, it doesn't get them all.
Another possibility is that you are reusing a Kaleun's name that you used a long time ago. SH3Cmdr stores history associated with each Kaleun. In this case, open SH3Cmdr.ini (in SH3Cmdr folder) and find the Kaleun's name under the "CAREER DETAILS" block. Delete the Kaleun and save and exit and try again.
Okay thanks for the information. Too bad about the possibility of losing tonnage. :damn: this game is buggy!!

Murr44,
Just edit the SH3 config file and award yourself the renown of which you were deprived. Blame it on Bernard's shore duty.

Yes, use notepad; It is a good idea to back up the original files before you mess with them.
