The research, published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied, adds to a growing body of evidence that mobile phones can make driving dangerous.Duh... The human brain is not capable of multitasking as people think it is. I can't tell you how many times I have passed drivers doing 10-15mph under the posted speed limit chatting away on their little cell phones... snarling up traffic and generally pissing off other drivers... :shifty:

Cell phones are forbidden when driving cars in Germany, as long as no hand-free room-mikrophone is in use. Or you stop and park while handling your phone.

It's not the act of holding the phone which is distracting it's the conversation itself.

IMO hands free cell phones are way more dangerous than hand helds, because at least with hand helds you can see when another driver is distracted.

Cell phones and driving are as equally as bad drinking and driving IMO. It is hard to enforce.

Best then disallow talking during driving in general. It distracts. Scratching could cause havoc and dare you switching the radio channel!

Tell me about it, I used my cell phone only ONCE while driving and I got caught :rotfl:

You forgot to tell us you drive a convertible. :D
