It is a seperate game that the guy who makes Il2, hese been giving release dates for years, but never makeing it. (Dont expect it to be released soon.)
If it's an payware add-on to IL2-1946, dont get it! It is most likely the one from GMX/X1, the Battle of Britain map is the Gulf of Finland and there's no new planes.
But, if you mean the new game from the maker of IL2, Battle of Britain: Storm of War, Oleg Maddox (the "boss") said he hopes to get it ready in summer 2009.
But just a warning, dont buy ANY addons to IL2 that isnt made by the developement team. And if you already have IL2-1946, there's no REAL addons for it you need to pay for.
EDIT:
Sorry, just re-read the post, on IL2-1946 DVD there's some stuff about BoB:SoW I explained above.

No, you was absolutely right!
I just read the post wrongly (it's Friday, I'm a finn, I'm drunk! FFS!). But anywho, there was an BoB campaing for Forgotten Battles form GMX/X1, I have an old PC game magazine with it's review in it. Laggs, skinned as being Spitfires etc. The usual GMX/X1 crap. :-?
EDIT:

Is it normal to post completely unrelated replies in a month-old thread?

Yes to Raptor and yes to the original question. There's a reason why 110s themselves needed escorting
