Ive always been interested in history and after watching a program the other day on future weapons it got me wondering where warfare is heading and when we are going to hit the limit of technology.

Looking back at history its amaizing to see how we have gone from swords to gunpowder to rifles and tanks. The navy has gone from wooden ships to hulking steel battleships up to modern day super carriers. We have also developed Nuclear weapons which would have been unthinkable a couple hundred years ago.

I guess its hard to say where it will end. With so many films, books etc with thousands of different takes on what future warfare will look like. I doubt we are too far off the edge of technology and i cant see warfare ever going through the huge change it did during the two world wars.

The only theatre left is space and apart from fragile satelites and orbital weapons i doubt we will ever reach the Sci-fi scene of giant space ships with guns :shifty:

Ofcourse, since a tiny satellite can deliver as much destruction as those at a thousandth of the price

I suspect most if not all will go remotely controlled. The human body can only endure so much. For example, we are limited to what the Raptor can do when manned. An unmanned Raptor can do much more but humans can only take so many G's, etc. Remotely flying, driving of aircraft and vehicles is already in the works and some are already working. The use of sound waves and other forms of crowd dispersing are in the works and or working already. I do not see a Star Wars type space in your and my time. Perhaps not at all in anyones time.
