So just making a "sondage"........:nope: dont throw tomatos plz............
Anyone has already seen a battleship spliting into two parts and sink like those c3 cargo when hit under keel?
I always test some dummies in the editor...... trying to shoot torps at the eel. But never, ever they have broken into 2 parts!:damn:

???? I think you meant keel, you had me confused for a long while there. Thought you fired a torpedo on another torpedo and expected it to break up in two.

Any way, I've only seen a Battleship break up in two once, so don't feel too ashamed. It's all about luck and depends heavily on where under the keel the impact takes place. Try aiming for the smoke stack or slightly ahead of it.

BBs are not modeled to break apart in SH3

Are you sure? I can confirm that a BB broke apart , but that was only after some sort of explosion from the engine room after 3 direct torpedo hits. Took around 20-30 seconds after the torpedo hits for it to go BOOM.

I was running GWX 2.1 btw, not sure about vanilla SH3.

im pretty sure BBs are not modeled to break in half in SH3 in any version of the game modded or not.

do you have a screen shot of a BB breaking apart? or perhaps video of this taking place?

Nope, hard to take a screenshot when you're getting pounded by Depth charges, besides I thought it was normal for any ship to break after a keel shot using magnetic torps. I did it in the Single Mission where you have to sink at least one BB in a convoy.

I might also add that I was using the OLCE mod with enhanced damage, though I'm not sure if it had anything to do with this.

You know.....I'm searching deep into my memory banks and I can't honestly say :hmm:

What I can confirm though is that on the odd/rare occasion I have seen them turn turtle.

There is no failure when you sink a battleship! Just success! It doesn't matter how you sink it, as long as it is sunk!:arrgh!:
