<laughs sarcastically> HA! Let them eat cak... er... pork fritters... on the gress, in the park, in the rain (if need be)...

You know what's really scary? Type "inaguartion" <hell, I just tied my tonsils in a knot trying to say it!) into Google and see how many other people mangle "inauguration"...

It will be out of control. 4 million plus. 3500 uniformed officers coming. Not to mention clean up:roll:. It is after all history in the making. In my minds eye, reading all the history books and wishing I was there for certain parts of history, some see this as the same. Wishing they are there and most have the ability to be there. Hotel rooms are booked in Washington, Baltimore, and now as far out as Annapolis MD. Should make for an interesting day. Personally, I hope there are no incidents and the transition is peaceful.

An incident, (and I'm NOT paranoid about terrorists or racist radicals for that matter) with that many people could be the trigger to exactly what we're trying to avoid... :shifty:

Wasn't he partly behind bullet proof glass at his acceptance speech on election night in Chicago? If so I couln't imagine security being any less or was that just a Chicago thing concerning the high levels of security?

But I'd agree, security, if anything should be "airtight"...

A sad comment on the state of the world. I remember many of the inaugural speeches made over the years and this is the first one where I'm seriously concerned for the President-elects safety...

I do not see him strolling down PA Ave like some past Presidents. He will have some gas burning 10 ton armored Lincoln belching filth into the air. Change my man, change.

Change my man, change.Ah yes, my dear sir. Change indeed. My hopes however vain as they may have been however, have always tended to look to "positive change". A transformation that has not been fully realized in my brief lifetime...

Either that or you've parodied Mr. Obama's platform...

And people complain about what CEOs and board members get paid? Pfft! At least they are part of an entity that produces jobs and wealth, rather than leeching it from the productive citizens of this country:nope:

Well, as the campaign crap dies down and he starts to take the helm, I wish him nothing but good fortune and success. Just as I have done with past Presidents. This guy is odd though. He is surrounding himself with Clinton people.:hmm: I'm sure Jan 20th will be a day to remember and one for the history books.

You couldn't pay me to go to this. I just don't think it's a good idea. There's no way to ensure the safety of that many people, and the President.

The should just have it in the capital and televise it. I hate to break tradition, but in view of the current world situation, tradition be dammed. Just get the formality over with and get to work.

As long as none of them are named M. Lewinsky, he might be OK, then again.........

I'll let you know, he's been sending me E-mails since I gave him my list of demands regarding how I want my country run. I'm sure he'll keep me informed of everything he's up to, ah, I mean attempting to accomplish:rotfl:.
