Does realistic ship tonnage in commander also effect the damage done by torps?
I had the strangest (but probably the most realistic) patrol last night with this feature on.
Came across a passenger cargo (yeah the bane of GWX) usually I dont even bother with them... but not this time, it needed 3 torps before she sunk, and yes I waited for hours. :-?
My next target, a small merchant... it needed two eels, again waited hours.
The next two targets were both empire's, and both need 3 torps. The 3rd one in both cases being fired about 6 hours after the first, the ships had stopped, were listing badly but wouldnt sink unless I gave her the coup de grace.
On my way home I came across an ore carrier, and these usually go down fast with one eel to the bow area, well I had two left so I fired a salvo (did manual this time), one missed, one hit right where it counts.
8 hours later the darn thing is still steaming along at 12knots and doesnt appear to have taken on any water at all, even though the whole front half was blazing away.
It seemed like a totally different game, ships just would not sink, sometimes they didnt even apear to be taking on water, not to mention the speed some of these ships were moving at, before and after I hit them. I came across one small merchant (used my deck gun) that was doing 14+ knots?
What happened, Ive never had this happen so consistantly and I was, for the most part hitting these ships where I always do with great results?
It was very strange... sorry for the long post but I had to tell the story.. did BDU give half strength torpedoes?
