Yea thats the one thing i forgot to ask...

Guess I will wait a while...

Whats to be gained by installing one? The dvd drives already have a pretty good picture. I can see the grain in the film.

None...

#1 To get 7.1 audio from a PC requires super modern stuff that will quickly outpace the cost of the blu ray player. This is due to copy protection.

#2 Upconverting DVDs still means AWESOME picture and 5.1 sound.

Overall there is not an extreme benefit of blu ray until you get to the 50 inch display range and 7.1 audio.

Plus the fact that if you wish to burn disks (bluray) it will cost an arma and a leg for the disks.

Best to hold off and go for a standard DVD burner. Will do all you need untill the price comes down on Bluray burners.

I would wait untill they become standard stuff like DVD did.

It is standard. Yet the problem exists because of insane amounts of CP that have been already broken many times over.

The future of media anyway is network. Mpeg-4 was designed for transport over networks and that is what will happen. From what I am reading you can already watch HD movies in 5.1 from an Xbox 360.

You can also watch BluRay discs on PlaySation3.

I am going to wait a bit, with the new system that I have it has a 1080 Upscaling DVD Player, which actually looks pretty good. It will do for now :yep:
