Hi All
Can anyone out there give me a ball park idea of the specs needed to run GWX and some mods
as well.
I am running a AMH ATHLON 2.4 GHZ with 2 gig of ram and a ATI RADEON 1300 vid card, and i want to run a few mods as eye candy

Well, I'm not familiar with ATI video cards, but the rest of what you've listed is more than enough.
(Assuming you keep your PC clean with regular disk cleanups, defrags, keep your spyware removed, virus protection etc.)

You have plenty of power; however, you will probably slow down in harbor if running harbor traffic, and will definitely slow down with a lot of particle display.

GWX was designed to run on the same machine requirements suggested for stock.
The unknown quantity here is the additional eye candy mods that your refering to.

Hi, if you are in a position to upgrade the video card you will get a better experience; I recently upgraded from ATI x1650pro 256mb to a 512mb X1950pro and what a difference; with the 1650 and lots of traffic there was always that slight appearence of sluggishness about the water movement, this is completely gone with the 1950. The card slot on my mobo is AGP and as we are saving to get married I could not justify spending 300-400 pounds on a full rebuid of the pc, and picked the x1950 from Computer Exchange for 80 quid. Considering this was a 200 pound card a year ago that was not too bad, and it has given my old box-o-chips a stay of execution until I can persuade Mrs. Kentrat of the benefits of a total rebuild.....
I'd also suggest using Ultimate Defrag and move your Ubisoft folder to the outer (faster) edge of the hard drive, which unfortunately cannot be done with the Windows defrag tool, and having your page-file on another partition, or even better a separate hard drive. These little things have made a difference to my system and whilst I cannot guarantee the same on yours I think most people would agree that it is worthwhile and would have an improvement in game smoothness at least....

As a rule of thumb if you can run stock SH3 you should be able to run GWX (even at lower frame rates)
