I must say, that while I'm not all to happy with his political achievements (ehem...) I've always had the feeling that he must be quite a good guy, you know what I mean? He seems to have a real personality, unlike many other politicians.
Some good photos indeed.:yep:

I have no desire to bash Bush at all. They guy was handed a crappy hand. Somre created by himself and others that I would not wish on anyone. His first 6 years were not that bad. The last two not so good. The only thing I can say is how he pronounces terrorist....tourists. And nuclear...nuckler.
There's going to be a lot of comedians out there making a quiet goodbye to one of their best sources of material. :yep:

But he created terror in your minds, didn't he? As always, the term "terrorist" is nothing absolute. But posting leathal content in envelops and send them to persons with intentions to hurt or even kill, is what I would call terrorism.
And how many before ?
At least two in the preceding Democrat administration.
World Trade Center bombing 1994
Oklahoma Federal building bombing 1995
I must also note that had Clinton actually gone after the perpetrators of the '94 WTC bombing the second attack in '01 might not have occurred.

In your own argument - the Oklahoma bombing was the work of two nutters not affiliated with international terrorism in any way. The WTC '93 bombing only killed 6 people. Meanwhile we came up with a figure of 14 for post-9/11 Bush term.

I recommend you take the foot of the gas pedal, gear down to second, open the window, take a deep breath of fresh air, relax, go slow... and have a laugh at some of the humour the pics and the British comedy originally has been about, some not so long time ago...
The speed at which this derailed makes you wonder what would happen in case Obama turns out to win the election. Will you guys then start to throw darts and knifes at each other?

You fail to realize that Obama's war will be Afganistan. Remember, Washington took the eye off the ball? Oh, Obama will be tested in the first six months. Perhaps this was overlooked as well. Do not get your hopes up on Obama changing the world come Wednesday morning. At this point, we can say the very first change he made is becoming the first black president. The rest remains in his hands. How he wishes the future generation of American to view his accomplishments other than being elected is entirely up to him. Let see how he prevails in the coming years before we can without a shadow of a doubt today predict a sunshine rainbow tomorrow morning. Personally, I see a laundry list of let downs forthcoming. If McCain wins, we will also see a laundry list of let downs. There is a long road of recovery instore for American's. There is no magic wand for either of the candidates.

Considering the author of the thread and those pics from a major european news outlet (and thus the pics scaled for harmlessness), it was adequate an ironic title. Yes and no. Of course, a big attack with high casualty rate is different, but be it soldier or civilian, he's still a human. And seeing how things are in both Afghanistan & Iraq, any death of an coalition soldier or any civilian is IMHO a wasted life for lost cause.

A soldier and a civilian are indeed both humans but the former has the training and the means to defend himself and is alert for danger, the latter (by and large) does and is not.

Well I say, that poking fun at any politician is okay, part of free press. Then you have to think that some men/women are more popular than others. If I post something like this:
http://blogofhilarity.com/wp-content/uploads/emo_hitler-web.jpg
Then people are less likely to make a fuzz than if I posted something that poked fun at Obama. Why? Well let's face it: wherever you like it our not, Obama is extremely popular around the globe, considering he's an american politician.
But then again, someone will always be offended. Making a joke about Obama is not racist because it's Obama, or because Obama is black. It could be considered racist if the joke is based upon the fact that Obama is an afro-american.
But remember now, this thread is about Bush;)

Yeah, but now that obama is possibly president, he's fair game. If Bush can be compared to a monkey, so can Obama. Go for it. Monkey or otherwise. No double standards.

Neither have I (they don't look like monkeys), but since the term "porch monkey" was first used in the 1800s (when slavery was legal), it's been associated with racism. Wonder where "cracker" came from.
Anyway, I'm sure McCain will negotiate with the fish. Bush did say: "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

this not true either
Bush does have a certain "monkey-ness" about him that will be exploited by caricaturists - and this is not simply because Presidents look a little like monkeys, but because Bush does.
On the other hand, Obama does not resemble a monkey except in regards to the ol' black people are monkeys thing - which is racist, or except in regards to the fact that all humans kind of resemble monkeys - neither of which makes a good reason for caricature.
Assuming Obama is president, then caricaturists will no doubt find some other likeness that Obama's features suggest - and exploit it. It's unlikely to be a monkey though, and you'd be justified in being suspicious of the intent of Monkey-Obama collages.

People bashing him doesn't make me angry, that's why I have daily Bush funny quotes on my home page. You ass-u-me that I like Bush because I don't like Obama (a common ignorant assumption).

Well that's my point. I don't think it's ok to show anyone regardless of their heritage in an oven, or depict them as a monkey, or any other insulting caricature. This is not about what, but the why, because the message conveyed by these things is every bit as hateful as any racial stereotype you care to name.

Maybe I am going about this wrong, robbo. Like you said, I do not want to encouraged any racist behavior in this forum. I don't support racism but I'm not hyper sensitive to it either ( I grew up around black people, went to school with them, played football with them, worked with them, etc). You have to live here to understand, I guess. Recently the Italian PM made a small joke that Obama was "young, fit, and even tanned". In the US that is a compliment, he meant it as a good naturd joke, but there are twits everywhere waiting for this kind of comment so they can go running about with their hands in the air screaming "Racist! Bigot!"
I appreciate that Warhawk attempted to swing this thread onto the "good-natured laughing at Bush's goofiness" track. My mistake was allowing the racist depictions of Bush by Stealth Hunter, that was over the line and I should have acted on that. This thread is locked.
