View Full Version : Transparent windows on aeroplanes

I seen some cool images in the realistic phototread where aeroplanes have transparent windows, wich mod will have that cool effect?


A cool feature in the game; I came across a brittish task force of the Norwegian coast in april -40, since I was out of torpedos all I could do was to call it in. Momenteraly a group of 3 Dorniers arrived at the scene making life very difficult for the Britts.

And it seems that if I send multiple contact reports the OKL will send multiple strike forces in this case 3 strike teams with 3 Dorniers each. Making things go from bad to worse for the trooptransports and their escorts.

Days later I came across a Tramp Steamer in high seas, same thing, Luftwaffe is only a "phone call" away. This time the Luftwaffe pilots aiming could use some improvment though. The steamer steamed on and on.

The clear windows with crew inside come with GWX. Others may have done something as well, but that's the one I know for sure.

Nowdays, any mod comes with planes with transparent windows except maybe for NYGM.

Once, in the Med, I came across a small 5 vessel convoy which I then proceeded to attack. I picked out the largest & best target, a large merchant flying a New Zealand flag (sorry Lucy Lawless:D ). I hit her and just as she was sinking 3 Ju 87's & 3 Ju 88's appeared and proceeded to pound the surviving ships. One of the Ju 88's scored a near miss on one of the L-class AA destroyers which set her on fire. The other AA destroyer shot down one of the Ju 87's. I would have attacked the crippled destroyer but by this time all the enemy ships were on high alert and were moving too fast for me to get in to a good firing position. The other escort was also getting dangerously close to me so I decided to make my escape.

I don't see the Luftwaffe very often but I sometimes see convoys with damaged ships. Unfortunately they always seem to be on the other side of the convoy & always seem to be far too close to an escort to safely attack.

The clear windows with crew inside come with GWX. Others may have done something as well, but that's the one I know for sure.


But I am playing GWX 2.0 is it an enhancemant in 2.1? I have not upgraded since I am in the middle of a game and dont want to loose it.

2.1 is the update to GWX 2.0: it has various fixes & inclusions. You probably should finish your career/game, uninstall SH III & GWX 2.0 then reinstall them & then update your 2.0 install to 2.1. If you try to update it while still in a 2.0 game you'll very likely have problems: crashes, etc.
