How can I get back to base?
Exists a shortcurt as SH3,I have esausted fuel and battery?:damn:
(I ever played with unilimited fuel).:oops:

Well, you just have to manage you fuel in order to get back to base, there is no such button in SH4 as it exists in SH3.

Myself I never play with limited fuel, so I don't have this problem.

Managing fuel was an important part of a real submarine, and there were no tow trucks to get you back to port, either for the U-Boats or American fleet boats. So the SH4 implementation is accurate. If you don't want accurate you can always uncheck the option for limited fuel.

Not excactly sure as to how the original is worded but to put it in a nutshell..

If you run out of fuel its game over :damn: . There are other game stoppers such as losing your rudder, losing your propellers, losing the propeller shafts, losing 'both' diesels (even though there are really 4). In any of those cases you are stuck and either have to start a new career or go to a previous save.

As the others have said you have two options... Start a carrrier with "limited fuel" unchecked (gives you unlimited fuel), or learn to conserve your fuel (cruise at 9.5 knots, be stingy with batteries, etc.).

There is no magical 'return to base' button. Developers decided to do away with that to lend realisim yet left us with an option of unlimited fuel if you so wish.

My boat would not turn. Tried to turn it for hours. Read this post, and committed suicide by going deep. Thanks for solving the problem (I wrote this before the boat went under and put the note in a bottle. Hopefully you will see it.)
