A very self-important college freshman attending a recent football game took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.
'You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one,' the student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear. 'The young people of today are much more advanced than people your age. We grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon and the internet. We have cell phones, nuclear energy, electric and hydrogen cars , computers, automated manufacturing, amazing technologies, ...and,' pausing to take another drink of beer.
The senior took advantage of the break in the student's litany and said, 'You're right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young .... so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little ****, what are YOU doing for the next generation ?'
The applause was resounding...
I love senior citizens

Way to go there Gramps! I like the wisdom that, or lack of, that is pointed out in this one.
Hats off. So WTF are we doing for the next generation?
So WTF are we doing for the next generation?
We're taking a break, let them do the hardwork, why should WE invent everything for them. Duh.. :-?

Two old ladies are having a cigarette outside the old folks home and it starts to rain. One of them suddenly pulls a condom out of her handbag, unravels it and puts it over the cigarette so it doesn't get wet.
"Ooh, what's that, Betty?" the other asks.
"It's called a condom, they sell them at the chemist's dear," she answers.
So the other goes to the chemist's and, when asked for a condom by such an elderly lady and seeing an opportunity for mirth, the young oik behind the counter smirks and asks, "so what would you like, a ribbed one, a French tickler, flavoured?"
"Oh, I don't mind, dear, as long as it fits a Camel."

Because..... if someone doesn't invent renewable energy technologies, environmentally safe manufacturing methods, more efficient ways to grow food and purify water, discover cures for avian flu and the like, the next generation might not have a decent place to live.
You guys need to get busy. It isn't just for the next generation. Before I die I want my own personal holodeck.

Renewable energy. Too many companies make too much money the way things are going.
Envirornmentally safe manufacturing. Cost is too high to do this. It would gobble up too much of the profits. It's easier to go to another country that doesn't have any EPA regulations. Besides, it increases profits again, since the labor over in these other counties is dirt cheap compared to the people in America, who (god forbid) have the nerve to demand fair pay for a day's work.
Growing food. Quit developing farmland into neighborhoods, and shopping centers. More land to grow food means that the existing land can have ample time to lay fallow instead of depleating it.
Curing ills. They eventually get cured. Only trouble is, is trying to figure out the next batch of bugs that come along.
Purifying water. From what I've read, the zebra mussles have done a good job cleaning up the Great Lakes. Yes they are harmful to indiginous mussles and clams, and clog up man mande water systems, but Lake Erie went from a visibility of 6 inches 21 years ago to 30 feet today. They even cleaned man's pollution from the Lakes to an extent.
