So the 2008 season of motogp is over... winter Testing on the 09 prototypes is underway and a big mix of riders and new teams is in place for next season.

Hayden has moved to ducati which will be fantastic to watch and i hope works out for him. Kawasaki are trying to step up a gear in competivness for 09 and rossi has got to try and hold his new title from stoner

I cant wait for next season. Its going to be great seeing the 09 800s refined some more and see which bike has improved the most. I would love to see the ZX-RR in a state to compete with yamaha and ducati.

The 08 season has had some great races. Not to mention laguna seca which will probably go down in the history of motorcycle racing

Yeah but.....traction control? No, thanks :nope:

I grew up in the 80s and I had my first bike then. MotoGP doesn't stand a chance to replace in my heart the 500cc monsters of that era, Rainey (My personal idol), Schwantz, Lawson, Gardner, Doohan, Beattie.....

When I look at the grid today and see who is riding the MotoGPs and how they do it, I nearly want to cry (Except for Valentino Rossi and Capirossi, that is). They now depend like F1 on having the best technology and tyres, and the rider means very little. Compare this to Rainey battling out the Hondas in an inferior Yamaha and you will see what I mean. None of this modern riders would even match the middle part of the grid if competing back in the 80s with those bikes

Yep i totally agree with you. The days of sheene, roberts etc had some fantastic races. watching those riders trying to keep the front end down when launching was great. Even back a couple years when the 990cc "Fire breathers" were going at it was good to watch.
