Yep. That is exactly the reason why I avoid using Goggle search anymore, and bash their browser, Chrome. Information is not only money, it also is power. And Google's power is without counterbalance and counter-controlled. Not to mention legitimation of the kind we demand for legal and governmental power.

I've mention to my wife to stop using google and yahoo but she doesn't care.

I believe most people don't care untill something wrong hits them but its too late.

There is nothing wrong with the street views in google earth. That article is a piece of major paranoia.

Just a bit of a stretch to say that banks could use the info they're gathering to adjust interest rates on mortgages based on property conditions since this isn't going to be real-time data. Besides which, the bank could get a picture of your property any time they wanted to, anyway.

And I thought I was paranoid:D

Exactly. You go to the City of Providence tax assessors office and you can view a picture that they have taken of every building in their jurisdiction.

Is carelessness an American virtue? It happens so often with you guys. Environment. Finances, private debts, and mortgages... and now data sensibility. Now, political class is corrupt, environment is messed up, the privbate debts are ruining hundreds of thousnads of families and the credit market has just molten down.

Maybe now wanting to try some more care, for a change? At least it does not hurt - that's the worst that can happen. Why always waiting for the desaster to have happened before taking action, but then too late?

I am convinced Skybird was born in the wrong time. He would probably be better off in the 1400's or so. Of course, they were more religious back then - Heresy was a big deal. Maybe you just don't belong here?
