I have been trying to reach my patrol grid of CF32. I have already expended half of my torpedos both fore and aft and there has been a storm raging the entire voyage, so getting the two off the deck of my VIIB is going to be tough. I'll only send the lads up there if there is an emergecy. I think I just found one.

A large convoy was just reported going 8 knots about 250 clicks to the west. I turned my boat and increased to flank to intercept. About 2 hours later, a large TASK FORCE was reported just north of me headed northwest at 26 knots, and a plane just flew over.

I'm out in the middle of the Atlantic trying to catch a convoy and now I'm crash diving to avoid the RAF while an entire task force --obviously with carrier(s)-- is in range to intercept my approach and attack!

To seal the deal, just as I order crash dive my wife and kid come in and need my help out of the office. What are the chances?

Actually, the odds of such events occurring are pretty good if you ask a certain cynical Irishman. :p

Actually I just started playing 2 weeks ago, and my convoy ambush last night got interupted with a task force headed right through the middle of it at 15 knots. I had gotten ahead of the convoy and was at periscope depth right in the middle of the 5 lines of ships. Convoy was headed east, and task force was headed north. Suprisingly enough no ship collisions, but the intersection point was right on me, so I couldn't fire a shot off at any of the convoy ships. And I had been stalking that convoy for 3 hours of game time figure about 1 hour of real time. Last 2 destroyers in the task force got a ping on me so i had to spend the next hour (2 hours of game time) deep avoiding them at 3 knots, and gave up chasing after the convoy.
