Hey guys, I'm feeling a bit thick today. I wanted to see if there were any scripted events comming up in my career, but the GWX manual made my head spin after 20 minutes of stairing at the list it has. Does anyone have a more consise list of events with dates and locations at which they occur? Thanks!

Google for it! :ping:
Everything that has to with naval operations during World War II is scripted into GWX.:arrgh!::up:
Well, not in some parts of the world, events are not wholly depicted into GWX: try running the Battle of Leyte Gulf or Surigao Strait in your PC!
But the whole u-boat experience would come into its own in the Indian and Atlantic Oceans!

you can intercept some good task forces in the north sea between Lerwick and Northern Norway if you play your cards right.
Just hang out off the coast of Norway, contact reports will flow like wine.
I'll add that the Dunkirk evacuation is mostly unprotected by sea (if i remember correctly) so its a buffet if you can time it right

The GWX manual is a great history lesson and will give you advance warning of scripted historical events.
There are also a few mods that will give you a couple of days notice of these events, both through radio messages and through the SH3 Commander loading screens. If you're close enough to them, you can change your course and get involved in the fun.
More info is on the thread at the end of my signature block.

I agree. Although the information is certainly there, it reads like a history text book. That happens to have been my worst subject. Perhaps a summary section for each event would allow us to get the pertinant details quickly? I honestly did try, as stated in the OP.

i think that probably the manual was written that way to maintain some of the "randomness" of the campaign. and to give the player an element of "if you want the information bad enough... you'll find it"
It was written like a history book so as to prevent players from going and sitting in one specific spot for weeks just to sink an entire task force that they knew beforehand would eventually show up on a pre-destined date and time and place.
as opposed to writing the exact date, time and location of every scripted task force and battleship for the entire war. - whats the fun in that???
If i know every single move my opponent will make, when he is going to make it, how he is going to make it etc... there is no element of suprise, no element of danger, no challenge whatsoever.
thats chicken **** if you ask me

I agree with you there GoldenRivit. That is also a reason I asked for a summary here. I wanted the general area and times so that I could be around to see something go down without foreknowing their moves. It would be nice to have a general summary of the events, though I do see your point.
