I resisted this about as long as I could, but after Dan urged me to do it, I caved in. 22" 1080 Samsung widescreen. Brilliant resolution and color, I feel naughty.

The added bonus, my 19" LCD is now with my Retro Machine! I was afraid the S3 Trio video card would not work with a modern display, but it does.

I still live with a 19" CRT.
Quite happily, I might add. It takes up a bit of space, but it has a great picture.

Yes most of my purchases have been through them so far. Mainly because they have lots of stuff in stock.
Newegg tho has the better deals and they are approaching fast on items for sale and bargin bin items.

Yeah, nice widescreen. I was admiring it the other week
I can still recall Steve trying to figure out how to switch it on
I have a iiyama ProLite E2207WS-1 myself.

Newegg s about 15 mi. north of me. The drawback is they charge me sales tax and higher shipping than Tigerdirect. :damn:

Neal I would suggest a monitor like this.

LG is good.

Ughh, complications :(
The 19" Samsung 931B that I moved to my old Win95 Retro Machine... when I plays some games, such as Tom Clancy's SSN, a popup appears "Optimum resolution is 1280x768 60Hhz" (or something similar) and will not go away. Of course, in the Windows environment I can set the res and refresh and the monitor is happy, but some older games set the res and refresh and the ^%#)*&^ popup will not go away. :damn:
Any ideas? Are there older or smaller flatscreens I should try?

More than likely there is a setting for it on the display itself.
I tried searching for a Win95 driver Neal but seems only support for Win98 on!

I'm using a 19" CRT at the moment, but I'm think of hooking it up to the 32" LCD widescreen Philips TV that we got not long ago. Just have to convice the wife this would be a good idea!

That's a good idea, thanks. I will check for that (fingers crossed).

I'll check that, too, Zach,
thanks. I hope so, this is really a pain....:damn:

Yeah, appreciate that Reece, I couldn't find any Win95 specific drivers either. If the monitor cannot be adjusted or the "auto-adj" turned off, I guess I need to look for a 17" flat screen with a good ms time that does support Win95 :dead:
