Well, the MP worked well enough last week when I set up a game with Magnum, but we are now finding a lot of problems with it. For example, there were 6 of us trying to get a TEAM game started, for some reason some of us could not join... so, bear this in mind. MP may not work as advertised. I have revised my review.

It seems you are not alone:

It seems MP is not the only complaint with this game, checking their forum.

Well bugs and issues are there to be fixed.
Let's hope these will be soon a thing of the past when the first patches are released.:yep:

I tried to get in a Himachi based game yesterday with 5 other players; I could press JOIN all day but not get in. Seems 1vs1 is all I can start. I did play another short battle with Tony in 1vs1, but until I hear from Lighthouse on the plan to fix this, I would NOT count on any quality MP.

SH2/DC had issues like this with the initial release but to their credit, they were in constant communication with me and I could testify they were going to work on MP further with a patch. I have not heard back from Lighthouse on this aspect.... To be continued.....:-?

Neal, who did host the game vs. Tony? And was the host the same as with the 5 guys? It might be that this is an router problem, i.e. not having the correct port open with the host. :hmm:

I really can't get multiplayer to work...I can't find the game :damn:

Dowly, I think is was another player who hosted. I created a game and Tony was able to join.

Ok one or 2 things to try.. we seem to be able to get the MP sorta playing with https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/vpn.asp?lang=en =
Hamachi

The latest Hamachi VPN lans are posted on the forum , whenever someone creates one.

Skirmish so far is the most stable.. we had 4 players 2 bots around 20 frags and lasted 25-30 mins

When you attempt to join press F9 key this indicates if your joining attempt is acually working.. you see the packets start to rocket up..

Last thing .. try a few time to join in MP join screen.. then press "back"... on more than one try I joined after pressing back button .. go figure.. but hell it joined !!

Try also to type in the IP address of the server this has been said to work as well.. dont know why !

Also make an offering of human blood to the god of a random Lapland Elk herder.. this may work the results are not yet confirmed..

But.. like Neal when he couldnt join he was at least on the http://www.t34vtiger.com (http://www.t34vtiger.com/) team speak.. it makes life sooo much eaiser and people can help with problems and give information out faster.. plus when Tony shouts "Tiger 11 o'clock 800 meters I no Im about to get Team killed lol

So has anybody heard any official word about a patch? I think the main reason the lack of LH support is the language barrier. Which shouldn't be just because the devs are all russian, there are translators.

LH is aware about the problems and they have (hopefully) informed the dev. Its another thing is the dev going to do anything about it.

Well, thumbs up that they will release a major patch in the near future.

Right, but that's not really an official word from the devs. It's more like a PR response.

Quite some complaints in their forum that known bugs from the 2 year old Russian version have been carried over into the Western release. That speaks against dedicated quality support for the game. Of course it is possible that there will be a patch, and some issues getting solved. But I would not hold my breath for that the game gets the post-release support that it seems to need.

Another thing that disturbs me, my Lighthouse contacts have not answered my mail for the last week. That's a bad sign :nope: At the very least, Ubi and Sonalysts always replied to my questions and listened to our concerns.

Hi all

Bought this game yeasterday and instantly hoped for some patches but as already discussed, there seems to be a dead community and nigh zero visibility from the Devs since release:cry:

I will pop back here to see if Neil gets any Joy.

By the way how are you all,

I have packed SH3 away for a while and am currently WOW addicted aswell as playing Supreme Ruler 2020 which if the devs put some serios thought into their planned expansion looks to be a mega potential game.

Which is exactly what most wanted, some kind of verification from the devs. Which this is and it's great to hear no doubt.

I would love to see the dev team and publisher stand behind this title and fix the MP, but the lack of official response has been daunting.

The moderator in that thread in principal shows an attiude of "now you spend money on a beta, means: and unfinished product that should not have been released at this stage - so what?"

I was always at war with this kind of forgiveness for publishers rushing their games out in a broken condition and then expecting people to hope that what they already payed full price for eventually get fixed in the future (or not). With no other product category people buy this would be accepted.

If anything, the publisher deserves a spanking for having it released too early, obviously. forgiving it and being tame on them just encourages them to show this policy again with future relases (for they see they get away with it, and don't we see this behavior all too often with game releases, since years?).

I don't like to react to desasters. It's much better to plan and safeguarding against them in advance. we would have a better general game software quality standard in new releases today, if customers would be less forgiving.

totally agree with you........it is one of the pros for the console-lovers..they seem to sell more finished product

Pc devs/publishers know that they can put virtually anything out........and patch later. The majority of sales are usually first few weeks of release, and so theyve already got you....

If I am correct, TvT was published in Russia, something like a year ago.....that should have given devs enought time to pinpoint the major bugs and find a solution for them. The state it was published in now is totally unacceptable.

They expect (and find) that our money is easy pickings because so few tanksims come out.....

The pesimist in me ReM agrees with you 100%

There has been plenty of time for them to iron out the problems long before it arrived in Europe, so it does look bleak.

No, I saw that, it doesn't impress me. Oddly enough, it leads off with "Where can I buy T-34 vs Tiger". :shifty:

The lack of response I am referring to is through the channels I have been communicating in, with the publisher. Up until this week, any questions I had were promptly replied to.

I would add the way a publisher reacts to input like yours to your review, Neal. Relation to customers is part of the package they sell, in my understanding.
